Breakfast Topic: What was your favorite moment at BlizzCon?

For me, it's a toss-up between the following, both of them from the general World of Warcraft question-and-answer session yesterday:
- Ghostcrawler's quip about the new alchemy two-person mount in Cataclysm: "Have you heard about the new alchemy mount? It'll be hard to get but fun to see who gets it first. It's awesome ... Who doesn't want to mount their friends?"
- A question came up on faction balance from an Alliance player on a Horde-dominated server, and the developers felt that more needed to be done to make the Alliance "cooler," that the "mythos and psychology" among players had developed to favor the Horde for PvP prospects. As the developers' answers ended, someone in the hall screamed, "Give us Saurfang!"

I liked Chilton's. "We'll keep trying!"

Highlights: the lore panel and Metzen's "Geek Is". The man was on fire. Entertaining, interesting and insightful in all panels and interviews he did. The art panel was also stunning, the 15 minute video had so much in it I could watch that several times over. Oh and Jay Mohr, he had me in stitches.
Low lights: The costume and dance contest. Someone at Blizzard really needs to sift the wheat from the chaff on costumes, some of them were so poor that I became numb to spotting the really good ones. Also the live band with the dancing didn't work for me. The music didn't fit, it was delayed and the dancers didn't really get to show their stuff most of the time.
Final note: I've been lucky enough to go to Blizzcon 08 and 09. This was my first year watching via PPV. Direct TV did a superb job and when I go to my next con I will buy the TV ticket in addition to the actual ticket because you see so much that you miss when there.

GEEK is was by far my favourite moment. I loved it and I love that man even if I now have a major quibble with him and how it appears he views Jaina.
It's not the Jaina/Thrall thing as much as he was all, "you think Jaina has Green-Fever?" Ugh! Like it would be just her - or that it's HER fault that the two guys associated with her went nuts. Uhm... hello - writing! (also, Kael fancied her, not the other way around, so DERP!)
If they put her with Wryn where all she can do is go: "Calm down dear!" for the rest of her days, I'll go APE-POOPY!
If Jaina isn't going to be with someone who is a friend and an equal who shares her hopes and goals then let her stand on her own and keep calling Wrynn on his CRAP.
Wow... Holy Off-Topic Batman. XD Sorry.

yes, the DTV stream was much, much better this year, fully enjoyable. LAst year sucked big.
/now, blizz, I realize you want to be nice to the people who went there, but any chance we could cut down that 4-6 week wait for Deathy?

I didn't go but finding out what the login screen is was by far the best moment for me, I don't think this Blizzcon was that exciting for anyone who wasn't there, we learnt a few bits but not to hype up IMO

Finnaly got the diablo 3 signed poster that my brother spent all day trying to get. Also since I'm a nice brother I handed it to him.

And once again Blizzard makes the Alliance a joke, to service the Horde fans.
biggjudicem Oct 24th 2010 11:18AM
They say blizz hates mele. I'm sure I'd be more accurate in saying blizz hates Alliance...if your an alliance mele class, your f-ed.

The introduction of the Demon Hunter and playing Diablo,

My favorite was the Entire Lore Q&A panel. Alex and Metzen are hilarious.
"We'll have that(windrunner Reunion) wrapped up along with the Turalyon storyline.... in Stromgarde... with Atiesh. TWO YEARS AGO!"
Dreyja Oct 24th 2010 11:51AM
Yep! There were classic moments in that Q and A. Those two are almost a comedy duo.
Khayman Oct 24th 2010 11:43AM
I came to Blizzcon excited for everything WOW and left reminded how much I love the Diablo franchise.
Playing D3 and the Diablo panels were top for me.

Give me Saurfang, or give me death.

.
Please choose Saurfang.

I can tell you my least favorite. No doughnuts in diablo 3. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
Lucitlah Oct 24th 2010 12:06PM
What exactly is the picture used for this post? The "Final Approved Sculpt"?
Knob Oct 24th 2010 12:28PM
Deathwing's model. In the Art Panel, they showed the process of how Deathwing's model evolved through the creation process. This was the final approved model and it went ahead for texturing.

Thought Tenacious D was a great show. Was sad that there was no encore. Everyone upfront was surprised and was wanting an encore but was denied.
Band from the first night was very good. Their renditions of Blizzard music were great. If anyone has any info on them please let me know. It was a good addition to the dance contest even if the last person was cut off early. Blizzard still can't get the copyrights to Michael Jackson's music it seems.

My favorite moment had to be the first guy in the Class Q&A who asked to get rid of a couple Hunter Aspects, only to be booed down by a couple thousand people yelling. "Huntard!"
That, and the guy who had the cojones to go up to the Diablo panel to tell them that he thought the double crossbow of the Demon Hunter was "unimaginative". Again, only to be booed down by the thousands.
