The Queue: Barely coherent
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
Just so all of you are aware, Michael Sacco literally scraped me off of a hotel room floor so I could write The Queue today. No, I am not misusing the word literally there. There was a cartoonishly oversized spatula involved.
Xantenise asked:
Is there any news on the location of the awesomeness that is Asric and Jadaar in the new expansion?
I haven't seen them anywhere in Cataclysm. My current understanding is that the story of Asric and Jadaar has come to a close. Their ultimate fate rests within DeviantArt fanfics.
Oni Stardust asked:
I want one of those Aka'magosh shirts from the WoW Insider meetup at BlizzCon. Is that a BlizzCon only thing or can those of us stuck at home also get in on the action?
Those not at BlizzCon may, at some point in the future, be able to acquire an Aka'magosh T-shirt through some method. It hasn't been fully discussed or decided yet.
Many people asked:
Will we be able to download Cataclysm directly from Battle.net on the release date?
This is a question that has been asked in The Queue consistently for a few months now. At BlizzCon, we received a definite answer on this. Here you go!
russfriedrichs asked:
Who would win in a duel to the death, Rossi's beard or Deathwing the Destroyer?
Do you even need to ask that question? Rossi's beard is indestructible. His body could be burned to ash, but the beard would remain. And it would hunger for vengeance.
Pyromelter asked:
When is WoW Insider getting a better comment system?
Do you like Joystiq's version of our commenting system better? Our site will be updated Soon(TM) to be much closer to Joystiq's layout, and one of the things we are likely to port over is the comment system. I don't know when this is happening, but it is going to happen eventually.
Have questions about the World of Warcraft? The WoW Insider crew is here with The Queue, our daily Q&A column. Leave your questions in the comments, and we'll do our best to answer 'em!

DeviantARt ftw!!!
Dragoniel Oct 25th 2010 2:17PM
DeviantART is the single greatest website on the entire World Wide Web.
And I'm not even joking here.
James Oct 25th 2010 2:44PM
I just looked at the "Anthro" section. My eyes...burning!
Kylenne Oct 25th 2010 3:10PM
@Dragoniel: You seriously need to get out on the internet more.
Cure4Living Oct 25th 2010 3:17PM
@James
don't worry in time you'll come to know the furry, to like the furry, the want the furry and then love the furry, and then there yiff :P

If this little comment thread is any indication, art on the internet is controversial, yet getting out on the internet isn't?
...That's it, I need a portal to the Enrichment Center immediately. More sanity there, even if the only company is a metal box and a rogue AI obsessed with cake.

Kylenne,
I'm comfortable with the amount time spend outside, thank you. I know my local gallery and I've seen some more famous painted art reproductions. You know what? I don't like any of it. I suppose I'm not yet old enough for that at age of 24.
While some things that I have seen there in DeviantART... some seriously breath taking stuff. Things that I sometimes spend hours just sitting and looking at -- and at times it brings me more pleasure than a whole evening spent PvP'ing or raiding in WoW.
You can check out my profile there on DeviantART (same nickname as here) - the favorites section, for some examples.
I am yet to found a greater website on the web, barring some books related stuff, but thats a different thing.

@Dragoniel: "I know my local gallery and I've seen some more famous painted art reproductions. You know what? I don't like any of it. "
Fair enough. Personal tastes shouldn't be targets. Howsomever, "reproductions" just can't do justice. 2D pictures will never show the amazing mental FEEL of the real things. I never thought Jackson Pollock was a big deal until I saw one of his 15'x30' paintings in person. I was literally blown away. Even Rothko's stuff, which in 2D pictures just looks less than childish, in person is truly an emotional experience. (Well, it was for me.)
So, if you live in or near a major metropolis, check out their (or one of their) major art galleries. Art in person in relation to 2D art in books, reproductions, etc., is like the difference between a picture of your favorite "other" and his or her (or its) affection in person. :)
Cheers!

Kinda sad you're getting downvoted for liking something.
Thought the WoW Insiders doods were better than that!
skodnoise Oct 25th 2010 2:06PM
Amg! Palehoof
skodnoise Oct 25th 2010 2:11PM
Oh right, Internet hearts are interpreted as code and filtered......i meant to say:
Amg Palehoof *heart* he was so much fun to hang out with at the afterparty! The wowhead staff as well were a BLAST!
Drakkenfyre Oct 25th 2010 2:16PM
I was going to say, I had a feeling that was Palehoof from the horns and goggles.
Omacron Oct 25th 2010 4:42PM
I too had a great time hanging out with Palehoof. He was awesome in all of the blizzchat panels we were on together, and I really hope he comes back to Blizzcon next year.
Mostly because hanging with Palehoof is a sure way to get women. Dude's elbow deep in poon.

I heard a rumor that Blizz mentioned in the Art Panel about updated character models. Is this correct?
Samutz Oct 25th 2010 2:21PM
Yes and and the answer is the same as ever. "It's something we'd like to do, but not currently planned."

Mmmm I watched that panel. Although to be fair, I didn't watch the Q&A section because those are super annoying most of the time imo (although the Blizzard Sound Q&A was actually okay). They didn't talk about it in the main panel, anyway, and if it was actually an immediate, impending change you'd think they would have.
ambermist Oct 25th 2010 2:58PM
Exactly what Samutz said. Someone in the Q&A asked about it, and they said that they realize how the old models differ substantially from the newer races, and that they'll fix it at some point. If I recall correctly, "some point" meant a big patch later down the line or the next expansion, so yeah, going to be a bit.
