Battlegroup changes in anticipation of complete merger

CM Lylirra announced these changes and addressed some bugs to the process that are making it impossible to queue for BGs, which will hopefully be straightened out. Still, bugs aside, the first step of eventually allowing an entire region to be selected from for PvP and PvE seems really exciting to me and very positive overall. Finally, I'll get to farm all the disparate old friends I have on like 20 servers! A frabjous day, all told.

4 things are certain in life; death, taxes, you'll probably get _that_ dungeon/BG 5 times in a row again, and the other side always wins.

That'd be nice eventually.
That way Bloodlust Alliance won't be ROFLstomped and HK farmed, in Alterac Valley 95% of the time!

The return of twinks is nigh!
I hope, anyways.

Once this happens, I hope that we'll be allowed to group up with our RealID friends for instances. I server transferred to be in my current guild, but I've got a few friends on my old server I'd love to queue with, as well as one IRL friend on yet another server who's the best healer I know.

I second this a thousand times over! I have friends (in real life) who I started WoW to play with, and yet they can't stop changing server to get into the next "great" guild. >:3 Their solution? Well, transfer over one of your 80's as well or just level up a new 80 alt (Am I the only one who doesn't have time to level an 80 every other week?). I've tried both, but time limits / cost of transfer -- not to mention leaving low-level alts on the same server largely unplayed -- have made this difficult. So, instead of raiding with my friends, I have to content myself with redoing Azuremyst / Durotar / whatever for the 10th time with them. If I could just pick four friends off of RealID and invite them regardless of server (even if I were still limited by faction), I'd get up and do my happy dance right here and now (at work)!

I third this even more!! My WoW friends play on Suramar, Gilneas, Twisting Nether, Bloodhoof... I can't keep up with everyone! Being able to group cross-realms like that would be AWESOME.

Am I too late to fourth this?

Ha! My Biochem professor really loves memorization and we had to memorize a stanza of that poem to get some extra credit on an exam.

I wonder how this will affect people on Oceanic realms... being that we are a pseudo-geographical area, server wise.
Eternauta Oct 27th 2010 7:34PM
The same that happens with latin american realms, they're both considered to be on the North America continent, since the servers they use are located on the US.
BTW, that's also the reason why you can't transfer characters from US servers to EU servers and viceversa. It has to do with the physical location of the servers.
Merus Oct 27th 2010 10:26PM
We'll probably end up grouping with other Oceanic players because when we go matchmaking, the only people on are probably going to come from that area.
Latin America is in trouble though.
