The female worgen dance appears to have finally been finished and put into the latest beta build. She is going to be doing Lady Gaga's Poker Face. Wowhead has datamined the dance out of the latest patch files and has a few animated .gifs up on its site showing the dance moves. You can also see it in the video above.
For those of you keeping score at home, the female worgen model has been delayed, put in, pulled out and generally not finished for most of the beta. It appears Blizzard is starting to get things ready for Cataclysm's ship date. Now, if only it would fix the really strange way her jaws sit.

Total miss, especially in light of how many better choices there are out there. And the fact that neither worgen does the Mod Wolves dance is just inexcusable.

As an Alliance player, it hurts that the Goblins have completely won on the dances...The execution for Goblins is so perfect, I just can't understand the choices Blizzard have made with the Worgen dances.
I think the biggest problem here is that these dances can't stand on their own. The Goblin dances work because you don't HAVE to know what song they're from, they look fun in their own way. The male Worgen dance looked so odd and unfinished to me when I first saw it, until I saw the comparison with Timberlake's video. This one is the same way, it doesn't flow smoothly at all, and only make some sense if you put the video next to it.
Bad Romance would have been such a better choice, since it has a routine that actually looks good on it's own, and it 'flows.

Seriously, Bad Romance has far better dancing in it if they were going to inexplicably go for the Gaga theme with female Worgen (which makes no sense IMO to begin with).
Oh well, all the more reason why I'm glad I have no interest in playing one beyond the starting experience.

You don't understand my point.
The Goblin dances are smooth and flowing, because they're based on a danceroutine where the moves actually follow eachother up nicely.
For the Worgen female, Bad Romance would've been so much better because it has the same thing, a smooth choreography that has a flow to it. This, not so much. It's seperate moves pasted together into something that's not cohorent.

Renir this is precisely what makes me like or dislike the dances of any races. You hit the nail on the head. The only bit of this dance I recognised was the hand around the face (which I have always liked as a dance move. Looks very streamlined.) Pokerface doesn't focus on the dancing in the video at all, I had to look pretty hard to actually match up where the different sequences came from. I agree if they're going with gaga, Bad Romance would have been a better choice.
However...
I won't pretend to know how long they've been working on this. For all we know, they could have worked on the bare bones of this dance before Bad Romance was out, and might have been in a 'too late to go back now' situation. Perhaps that's why it's taken this long to come out? Because they were trying to make the best of a bad pick?

It seems somewhat fitting, though I don't think it's very appropriate (as in they could have chosen better, not about the moves, though those are strange, too). I mean, being essentially half-human, this dance seems like a sexed-up Macarena, which is what the normal female Humans do. Maybe that's what they were doing for?
Now I'm going to have to compare the Human males with the Worgen males to see if it all makes sense...
Also, I really wish they'd chosen more iconic dances. All the classic races have dances people can recognize, but the newest races' dances are all too modern for some people to know, including me.

This phenomenon of using popular current artists/music for dances did not at all start with the BC races. "Suerte"/"Whenever, Whenever" was hugely popular in the English-speaking world at the time of release, thus we get female Trolls doing the moves from the video. The only difference is that there was more of a mix. Also, "iconic" != "immediately recognizable to large swaths of people", or else we wouldn't have capoeira or a French pole dancer who allegedly sings as vanilla dance inspirations, either.
I would argue that at least in the case of female Goblins and male Blood Elves (and to a lesser extent male Draenei), those dances were legitimate pop culture phenomena and thus pretty safe choices for dances, considering Blizzard loves that sort of thing. Tons of people who've never seen a Beyonce video or the movie Napoleon Dynamite are familiar with those dances because they were huge internet memes. Tunak Tunak Tun was a meme also before WoW. I'm actually kind of shocked Caramelldansen hasn't made it into the game yet, tbh.

Actually, I've been pretty postitive about most of the Worgen stuff. I even don't loathe the male worgen dance. Minus the shimmy it could fit quite well.
I hate this ENTIRLY on it's own merits, believe you me.
Gaga though... gaga... Ugh!

LOL, yeah. I've been very cranky about the whole "Forsaken get to play our story" thing and hated on the demonic chiahuahua but I think the male worgen look epic. I love the feel of Gilneas and just about everything about the starting zone.

Truley I've complained a lot, likely more than I gushed so fair enough. So, I will give you that.
HOWEVER, what I was trying to say was that I don't instantly hate on something just because it's new. I hate it when it sucks. :) Most people will agree that demonic Chiahuahua sucked. X-p
I hate on blood elves a lot too and they've been in the game longer than I've been playing. XD
And yes, you are Wacky! ;-p

Great, faction imbalance on Proudmoore just got 10 times worse, half the Horde will be rerolling female worgen now.
