Cataclysm Beta: Worgen Running Wild animation
The latest build of the Cataclysm beta has finally added the animation for the worgen racial ability Running Wild, the mount replacement skill that lets them drop to all fours and run at increased speed. You can see it in the video above. Note that beta servers are still down, so we can't get a good video of it in the wild quite yet.
So far, I'm impressed -- can you imagine 20 or 30 of these guys running at you in a battleground?

*Tries to imagine a Tauren doing Plains Running in a similar fashion*

dude let it go Plains Running is never going to see the light in live servers
back to topic, the animation is something i wouldnt want in a worgen but i would love to ride it

"dude let it go"
Did it really seem like he was holding some grudge? Cause to me it seemed like he was just enjoying the mental picture of a cow running with this animation...
Galestrom Oct 27th 2010 5:31PM
Definitely a grudge.
What's the matter with you man, your vitriol detector broken? :)
Josin Oct 27th 2010 5:41PM
The funny thing is, the thread on MMO-Champ has a worgen in full Dreadnaught armor using the run, and he TOTALLY looks like a bull.
Sorry Horde... we did it better. ;)

I have an wee grudge. I think its neat for these new kids outta nowhere to be given a cool way to move fast, yet at the same time Plains Running has been something Tauren players have wanted a very long time. That dosn't strike anyone as a lil mean?
Try to understand. Lets Pretend Blizzard is a parent. They show one of their children a neat-o toy, but then decide that its not quite appropriate for the child as is. The kid waits, and asks about the toy off and on for 6'ish years, with no results. One day, the parent births forth a new baby and put that very toy right in its crib. :(
Maybe I just have a skewed view of equality? I dunno...

Yeah, I see what you mean, Cowy. Fortunately (and I'm just trying to see the silver lining, not belittle your gripe), ground mounts will be pretty much obsolete for mains when Cataclysm comes out, right?

20-30 in WG? No. 10? Yes.
Aris Oct 27th 2010 5:20PM
Did the article state WSG originally? I only see the word "battleground" which could easily include AV, WG, etc. which would certainly allow for the 20-30 figure.
Starlin Oct 27th 2010 5:39PM
Yes, it was edited. Notice all the other comments regarding WG below. I would delete my comment, if it was possible.
Iirdan Oct 27th 2010 7:12PM
Actually, though the game does not allow it, I COULD see 20-30 of these guys running at me down the Alliance graveyard hill.
It's terrifying, as a Horde player. Absolutely horrifying.
Flihbiddy Oct 27th 2010 5:04PM
Considering Warsong Gulch is 10man, nope can't see it happening :P
(they didn't change it did they? >.>)
Imnick Oct 27th 2010 5:42PM
I can only imagine the horror of a 30 man wsg
Allan Oct 27th 2010 5:04PM
I like it but... i cant help but think its gross. the legs flop up and down constantly and the face bobs a lot. i realy find it disturbing and will probably be grinding sw rep or something on my Worgen.
Thundrcrackr Oct 27th 2010 5:31PM
I think it looks alright but will probably look funny with gear on. Especially a dress. O.o
Killik Oct 28th 2010 8:16AM
The movement currently looks off because you're only seeing it stationary. The 'hops' will look more like leaps when it's speeding across Azeroth.
Elboogieoogie Oct 27th 2010 5:06PM
WSG? 20-30 players? Does not compute.
jamie.holding Oct 30th 2010 4:23PM
Personally, i don't like it, it is too sprawled and sorry to be picky, this is just a question but are they raising the WSG cap or was that a typo?
Spider Oct 27th 2010 5:09PM
Boing! Boing! Boing!
I see an oversized rabbit. x)
MockTurtle Oct 27th 2010 5:33PM
I would say it looks more like some sort of frog, but I take your point.
