Kids are the ones going all-crap on tarde chat, so i think they can handle themselves... Also the worst race combo is Gnome/Male/Female, and Worgen have pretty damn cool casting animations, id race change my main if it wasnt a horde toon :|

Fun this conversation. I a woman in real life, and I must say that for a female character in WOW, this is one of the few that actually appeals to me. A lot of women in WOW are rather... dumb, too feminine, feeble, skinny, whining... (Yes I am looking at you, Jaina Proudmore, what kind of a rolemodel are you, crying half the time).
Until now Lady Sylvanas was the only badass female in the game, as far as I am concerned; the rest are either barking mad or stereotypes of how women should look or "ugly fat girls"
The animations of this female worgen model look very powerful and I imagine she'll eat anybody who tries to mount her. And the lady Gaga dance moves seem nicely powerful too; Miss Gaga is not the sort of woman that radiates: "Oh help me, I am helpless, please teach me how sex works, cause I have no idea at all what to do with my body." She shows that you can be the owner of your own sexuality as a girl. Which I like, a lot.
And saying that it's totally different when male night elves grab their crotch because Michael Jackson is iconic is... uhm... I dunno, but have you been living in a cave for the past years? Lady Gaga is widely recognized as the new pop icon. Is she maybe disturbing your male old fashioned sense of what's appropriate behavior for women?

I try not to do a lot of internet arguing, and I honestly don't see much difference between Worgen Female Face #5 and #6. They both look fine to me. But I will say this:
Lady Gaga "owns" her sexuality the same way cattle owns its meat.
Discuss.

@Dameblanche.
I am actually a woman irl as well. However, I think your idea of a powerful woman is tied very much with sexuality. I play orcs, trolls, and tauren. None of which are overly sexuality, all feminine, all of which look like they could break you in half. All of which have their pretty and ugly faces. (I play the 'ugly' faces, but then again I have a wider view of beauty then most and think some of those faces are downright cute).
The worgen female is over sexualized. Sex no longer becomes a object of power if that is what defines you. Although I certainly agree with the idea of 'I ain't no little girl, I can take care of myself', why does this need to be the forefront of the person? Even Gaga wears fairly normal clothes on everyday outings, she isn't dressed in her wild and crazy get up doing sexual maneuvers at all times.
As a English major, personally I think many woman concentrate too much on the sex aspect. In too many novels throughout history have woman been the object of a mans desire, whether through her purity, or nowadays, blunt sexuality. Either way it no longer becomes freeing, it's just the same role with a different face in many cases.
The worgen woman has a kicked puppy expression in the stocks. She does not fight. She has no ugly, old, or plain faces, and all her faces have caked on eyeshadow and mascara. She is not really snarling in any of them, only a half-snarl that looks like a >:3 face from the front.
A lot of the animations are fierce. I like the omnicast. She does have a nice arm model, and the claws are awesome. But the face is so oversexualized, that coupled with the groping and the stocks animation it does not empower: it demeans.
As for Gaga: I like Gaga. However, I find it ridiculous that blizzard passed over the more iconic move of the arms out, head twitching to the side, or many of the other dance moves to instead give us the groping sequence which she only does rarely in concert. Never in the video.
So the fact that even Gaga didn't do that for her T rated music video... that is telling, I think.

I'm officially jealous of those casting animations.
Dear Blizzard; WTB updated animations for the original races. Especially female tauren. Please?
zweitblom Oct 28th 2010 1:17AM
Female Tauren have casting animations?
Dragoniel Oct 28th 2010 4:27AM
Curiously enough, I hate worgen casting animations and for that sole reason I won't be rolling any caster on them.
All this waving about...
sLpFhaWK Oct 28th 2010 5:32AM
I was thinking about making a Worgen druid until I saw the animations. They are prerty disgusting to me. Sad to say too.
HappyTreeDance Oct 28th 2010 8:40AM
I'm just jealous of casting animations that have any sort of...I don't know. Animation to them? For both goblins and worgen, it's obvious that a lot of time and effort was put into making the animations dynamic and exciting. Worgen look like they're pulling magic to them through sheer force of will. Goblins wiggle their fingers at their target when they cast! I don't want tauren to have identical animations to worgen; That would obviously be silly and not fit their nature at all. I just want to see the same kind of care and thought put into the original races.
Mithraeus Oct 27th 2010 10:23PM
That dance...
*swoons*
MusedMoose Oct 27th 2010 10:26PM
A guildmate of mine came up with the theory that the breast-and-crotch slapping female worgen dance is just how they lure unsuspecting fools into thinking they're harmless. Then they bite the fools' throats out.
Thinking about it this way, I've decided that I'm okay with the dance. ^_^
devilsei Oct 27th 2010 10:30PM
Also, I think the female worgen has jiggle physics for the chest, might be mistaken though.
That finally means Alliance and Horde both have jigglers.
Alliance = Worgen.
Horde = Undead.
Noyou Oct 27th 2010 10:45PM
@Dev
Not to mention nelf and draenei females. But yeah this is improved jiggling :P
AudreyR Oct 27th 2010 10:57PM
Never seen a female dwarf run? Pity.
ctishman Oct 27th 2010 11:12PM
That's not a 'jiggle'. That's a 'flop-flop-flop-flop'.
foxish.sunrise Oct 28th 2010 12:47AM
@AudreyR
I'm still trying to figure out how my female dwarf pally's chest manages to bounce in plate.
Ullaana Oct 28th 2010 9:04AM
@foxish
Well, if they can flatten steel with their thighs, that shouldn't be TOO difficult to imagine.
bloodfyr Oct 27th 2010 10:27PM
Do they always do that snuffling sound?
Allison Robert Oct 27th 2010 10:35PM
Actually, I think the frequency is a bug. A few beta builds ago, the male worgen couldn't do anything without having the snuffling sound break out. Female worgen might have the same problem now, especially as they're so new.
Fletcher Oct 28th 2010 12:35PM
Phew! That's a relief, it sounded like Aggamaggan was coming up behind her or something. If all else fails, I'm sure there'll be an addon to remove it, the way there's an addon to shut up Sindragosa on the login screen.
