Bashiok announces BlizzCon pre-sale shipping delays

Due to an error in our shipping process, BlizzCon items ordered during the pre-sale have been delayed by approximately two weeks. We're expecting all items to now be shipped by November 3.
The intent of the pre-sale is of course to allow you to buy your items ahead of time, and get them as close to BlizzCon as possible, if not before. These issues, while unforeseen, are entirely regrettable and we apologize for any inconvenience they've caused. We're working to get you your goodies as soon as we possibly can.
Thank you for your patience.

I ordered a horde towel at the beginning of the pre-sale, and mine came a few days before BlizzCon. Maybe some items had an issue in the warehouse, or one of the vendors was late. Who knows! But you should be receiving your items sooner than later. Thank you, Bashiok, for the update.

Interesting.
I had ordered an inflatable frostmourne and a deathwing poster. The frostmourne came in on tuesday, but still waiting for my poster. I wonder whats up.

Did they double charge you for shipping?
Missescake Oct 29th 2010 1:59AM
Same. They split my order; three items arrived within a few days, I'm still waiting on the rest. And they doubled the next-day shipping when they split the order. Not happy at all with Blizz right now. Had I known they wouldn't be shipping the presale merch before stocking the stores at the con, I would've bought everything there.
Missed my daughter's birthday when I went to Anaheim but thought her gift would be arriving on the 22nd, which kinda made up for it. She's been asking every day since, When will it be here?
And the date he gives - 11/03 - isn't what's listed on my order. They changed the estimated ship date from 10/21 to 11/12.

Wait.. then how did these Diablo 3 posters get to my apt the week before Blizzcon? O.o
Don;t be too jealous cause I now have to front the cash to get them framed... and we all know how reasonable custom framing is.... /cries

Glad to see this addressed. I was caught aware of it when the money I had payed was suddenly returned to my account. It came back out at least. The only thing I've received is my barbarian diablo 3 poster from last year. Still waiting on my deathwing poster, hoodie, pin, and horde pennant.

^ Yeah, but think how sweet it's going to be when all that coooool-ass stuff arrives! You'll be *thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis* happy!

LOL. I guess that's one way to look at a botched shipping mess . . . I'll think of that the next time I got out to eat, starving to death and my food arrives an hour late, or trying to get somewhere, my plane/bus is so late, I don't get to my destination till much later than expected (and later then I've told everyone). And I suppose if I give someone their birthday present five months late, they should be even more happy because it's cool and it's waaay late??
Probably not.
Mistakes happen, and I do understand, especially when there must have been a huge amount of orders. BUT it does not make for a positive business transaction. If it was something that I delayed to relish it later (like the last piece of chocolate or something), it's one thing. When you had ordered something with the expectation that it would arrive in reasonable time, it's different. I will be RELIEVED to get it. I will NOT be happy at all that it's been delayed.
I have been waiting since last week. I WOULD have been very happy had it arrived in time. Now, I just want my stuff. I came home everyday from work, disappointed that my package had not arrived. Had I known, I would have just stood in line at the con and got it at the store there.

I imagine I'd be ticked if I had ordered this stuff. I hope they get it sorted out quick for those who did.

too bad DTV messed up my thing and i couldn't buy anything don't think Ill be getting the internet thing next year blizzcon just seems to not be worth it any more.
olzer Oct 29th 2010 3:55AM
"Blizzcon seems to be not worth it anymore"
That should be:
"Blizzcon seemed not to be worth it this year".
There were no major announcements, so it wasn't as exciting and hyped as the previous one(s) but i'm sure next year we're gonna get a huge announcement ;)
QuickSe7ens Oct 29th 2010 12:57AM
...So that's what I get for ordering next day shipping, hmm?
Hampster Oct 29th 2010 2:32AM
There was only an 11.3% chance of this happening.
Fierna Oct 29th 2010 3:23AM
Hmmmm... I really think there should be some kind of refund on shipping costs but I'm sure when I placed the order I agreed somewhere to pay shipping no matter when they get it to me.
Sarabande Oct 29th 2010 4:06AM
While I only paid for regular shipping, at least the people who paid for next day should DEFINITELY get a refund or at least a discount. People pay for expedited shipping to get . . . well . .EXPEDITED SHIPPING. If they don't get the result, they shouldn't have to pay the extra cost.
Stza Oct 29th 2010 6:32AM
this has been screwed up since the word...GO!
aramis Oct 29th 2010 8:18AM
Man, I should have ordered my stuff beforehand, even with the possibility of delay.
The stock was OVERLY skewed on the 'Con floor with almost EVERY booth selling out of Horde stuff while remaining fully stocked on Alliance stuff. Either the Horde players have more money and were able to make the trip out to BlizzCon, or a lot of Alli players were jumping on a bandwagon where they didn't belong for the sake of keeping face in front of developer panels that repeatedly confessed their love of all things Horde.
/grumble ... i wanted a towel. :(

These items mentioned were dependant on wether they were flagged as pre-order items, or just items you could buy on the Pre-Sale.
The Blizzcon 2010 T-Shirt, Poster, and the Starcraft 2 LP, and afew other items, all had 'To be released on 22nd October' on them (AKA Blizzcon), where some of the items were just shipped as soon as you bought them (my D3 Poster, Arthas helm, and Grunty arrived before the Con).
Jason Ralph Oct 29th 2010 10:03AM
This explains the run around I get when I call in asking where's my loot. I paid a small fortune to have in shipping and to keep getting a email saying it's been delayed. If only I had known this was gonna happen I would have got the stuff at Blizzcon, just didn't want to stand in line. LOL. Oh well. I guess I will renew my subscription after my order is delivered. It expires soon.

:\ They should refund our shipping charges.
