Actually, I'm pretty sure selfish actions are one of the cardinal markers for "jerky." The fact that you're completely oblivious to this fact, however, goes a long way to explaining your attitude and your inability to understand why a lot of people loathe a certain subset of AH players (such as those who borderline-exploit the game in order to automate a good deal of their posting).
