Warcraft seems to love two tropes above all others: fallen heroes, and redemption plotlines.
A'dal admits that M'uru allowed itself to be captured by the Blood Elves, so that they would be brought around to the Light. The entire Burning Crusade expansion was essentially about redeeming the Sin'dorei, and I don't know if you've noticed, but they use the Holy Light now. Their one ability that was different from Alliance paladins is gone.
I don't know if they're receptive and sensitive enough yet to be druids, but I could see, after Cataclysm, a faction of Blood Elves calling for a return to the ways of their forefathers and embracing the moon as well as the sun.
