The new zones will be on the CD, the old zone changes are already in your game files.

The cd's are there for people who can't download obscene amounts of data quickly, and only for that.

Welcome to the future, where you don't need cd's as you can download directly from blizzard. =)

@imnick The game files being downloaded now, are ALL files, save for the cinematics, which I am assuming will be downloaded on release night. Oh, that and whatever patches will come out in the meantime.

That Cataclysm DVD will likely contain everything. It may not contain anything NEW, if you do this download (besides the cinematic), but it will contain everything old. Everything from launch day in Nov '04 all the way up to the Cataclysm launch. It's very useful if you end up having to re-install WoW for any reason, such as a new computer.

It's a pretty old future. I don't have BC or WotLK CDs, either.
