I'm not even sure they "eliminated" him, per se; I think he may have been a victim of bureaucracy. One dev, knowing they're putting him on the council, removes him from Aerie Peak; another dev, not knowing his Falstads from his Kurdrans, puts the wrong guy on the council, and poof! The leader of one of the three dwarven clans is missing, while his brother now has the luxury of existing on two planets simultaneously. And the best part was, not just two random devs, but the two guys DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for storyline continuity, get caught with their pants down, in front of 5,000 people and on live TV (well, close enough), by a kid who, for one shining moment, sounded like he could do both of their jobs, and for a lot less money. The sheepish "yep, he got us" look on Metzen's face was one for the ages.
