WRUP: Post-BlizzCon rest and relaxation

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW.com staff and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!

We didn't bother with answering the WRUP question last week, because the answer should have been obvious. BlizzCon! It's back to the usual grind now, however. Our bonus question for the week is ... what was your favorite part of BlizzCon? It wasn't the most news-tacular BlizzCon ever, but surely everyone found something they enjoyed, right? Or was this year just a downer?

Alex Ziebart (@alexziebart): I'm spending some time with Fallout: New Vegas. I'm not entirely sure why I bought it, I didn't like Fallout 3 much. New Vegas is turning out to be the crashiest, buggiest game I've played since ... well, since Fallout 3. The best part of BlizzCon was easily our reader meetup. We've always had fun at the meetup, but this year it was truly awesome.
Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert): This is going to be a professions-oriented weekend. I'm going to max out archaeology on my beta main for an upcoming OverAchiever, then trot back to the live servers in order to work on jewelcrafting and inscription for my shaman. I've been saying for more than a year I'm going to level JC on my shammy, but I really mean it this time ... I hope. Plus, 5-mans with buddies, and lots and lots of writing.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): Catching up on things, still! I have writing to do, we're working on HM LK-25 in my guild, I have a pumpkin to carve for a guild pumpkin carving contest. As far as BlizzCon, so many amazing moments, but one of the best was probably speaking briefly to Evelyn Fredericksen, the creative development historian, and then hearing her suddenly bust out with an "Arise, my champion!" and watching everyone's heads turn as we realized that she was the voice of Whitemane.
Brian Wood (@frostheimwhu):A very beta weekend of testing and remeasuring recent hunter changes, as well as trip out to photograph what remains of the pretty leaves. The best part of BlizzCon was getting to meet so many fans in person -- and BlizzCon was not a downer!
Basil Berntsen (@outdps): I'm spending the weekend working on the dread day job. Stupid day job ... turning into a stupid weekend job.
Dan O'Halloran: Sneaking in some beta playtime before heading to Cub Scout Halloween camp for the weekend. Then back on Sunday to dress up in an inflatable Sumo Wrestler fat suit and take the kids around the neighborhood. Would like to get some playtime in on the Vindictus open beta, but I'm probably being optimistic on that one. Bonus question: My favorite part of BlizzCon 2010 was the WoW Insider Reader Meetup. We put in months of work planning it and that payed off in spades. Everyone seemed to have a great time. So much so that we had BlizzCon attendees asking us if we were also planning an afterparty when the con was over!
Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): Well, as I'm leaving at 1 a.m. Saturday to go to the Rally to Restore Sanity in D.C. and visiting my parents in Wisconsin on Monday, I doubt I'm going to have much time for gaming. But if I get a chance, I'll probably be hitting Fallout: New Vegas pretty hard. The Fallout series destroys all my self-control.
Gregg Reece: I shall be rallying to restore sanity this weekend. Still pondering if I should make either a "Ghostcrawler, we can handle the moose!" or "Abasik Kampfyre for Warchief" poster to hold up at the event. As for BlizzCon, I really had fun watching a lot of the information in the Diablo 3 gameplay panel. A lot of gameplay for WoW evolved out of Diablo 2, and you can see it starting to go back the other direction a bit as well now. The main reason I watched it is that some of the interesting, new design changes that D3 is bringing could eventually work their way into either WoW or the unannounced MMO. Watching the design evolve over the years shows paradigm shifts in how the designers intend to have the players interact with the game. It's really kind of neat.
Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): Still recovering from the time difference between California and New York, but I'll get there. Starting a new shift at work for the next 30 days which will see me getting me up 1.5 hours earlier than normal. The girlfriend is moving this weekend so I'll be helping her do that as well. I picked up Fallout: New Vegas though and will likely be sneaking as much time as I can with that. All I have to say about that game is "War. War never changes." :) As far as BlizzCon goes, my highlight was really the reader meetup. I got to meet so many of our fantastic readers and my fellow insiders. I had a great time. I'd like to give a shout out to my new friend James who flew 7,000 miles to party with us and has a great taste in beer! Cheers, mate!
Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): This weekend will contain one Halloween party, one security system installation, and many comics. I hope to finally be able to sit down and spend some quality time with Castlevania: Lord of Shadows. As for the bonus question ... BlizzCon 2010 was a downer? Not for this gal!
Lisa Poisso (@emused): I'd have to agree: Catch-up is the name of the game for a post-BlizzCon weekend. (But that means catching up on sleep and play, too!) My favorite part of BlizzCon was soaking up the enthusiasm of so many people, from Ghostcrawler (thanks for inspiring a young marine biologist!) to everyone who hung out with us at the WoW Insider reader meetup: Michele Morrow, Aron Eisenberg, the LFG documentary crew, the ever-present Orkchop, each and every one of the Drama Mama fans who came up to find me, the LEGO crew, Noor the Pacifist, a couple whose guild event we promoted one week in The Classifieds ... Too many to mention them all! Good people, good ideas, good talk, good times.
Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Getting caught up on lots of crap, trying to get over being sick, and dancing around dental work. Oy. The best parts of BlizzCon 2010 were meeting all of the readers, having an awesome time at the reader meetup, and making a ton of new friends.
Matthew Rossi (@matthewwrossi): Working on getting my nelf warrior on CC ready for raiding in case that ever comes up. Doing some ridiculous DPS in heroics. I wasn't involved at all in BlizzCon this year. Didn't watch it, barely read the posts (if not for WoW Insider I might have missed it entirely) just had too much RL stuff going on.
Rich Maloy (@stoneybaby): Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing this weekend. I'll try to put in some time on the beta, make some upgrades to the website and Big Crits' YouTube channel, and plan out what I'm doing next week. As for the bonus question, hands-down the best part was getting to party with my guildmates and to meet everyone in the meatspace.
Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): Well, I'll be at the <It came from the Blog> Hallow's End event on Saturday morning, then family stuff for the rest of the weekend. I'm sure I'll squeeze in some Lucky Train on Facebook and some beta fun. BlizzCon: Meeting readers and my fellow WoW Insider staffers was the highlight of the weekend for me, by far.
Sarah Nichol (@mentalshaman): I will be playing Plants vs. Zombies, attending a birthday party for a 1-year-old, and listening to a friend of mine play symphonic metal in a halloween night at a traditional English pub in a tiny rural town. That is apparently a fancy dress night. I have no costume. Time to haul out the goth gear!
Zach Yonzon (@Battlemasters): Working my butt off on last minute costumes for my family for a steampunk hat party (which should carry over to Halloween) as well as helping my wife on a steampunk cake (which likely will no longer be around for Halloween). My favorite part of BlizzCon 2010 is that I only spent $40 to enjoy it, which is a bargain considering I could still watch the HD replays on DirecTV days after the event. I'm also glad I stayed home this year, because the announcement of the last Diablo 3 class probably isn't worth flying halfway across the globe on my own dime for.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
