1:30 p.m. EDT We're getting several reports in that elementals and cultists are attacking Azeroth.
1:37 p.m. EDT It looks like there are rifts that open in various zones in Azeroth, and elementals spawn. You can kill the elementals as they spawn.
1:40 p.m. EDT There are quest people you can talk to in Orgrimmar and Stormwind, outside of the banks.
1:49 p.m. EDT You can access a Mysterious Device after you kill a spawn of elementals in any zone.
1:59 p.m. EDT There's an uptick in the number of earth quakes.
2:07 p.m. EDT We're getting reports that this event is now active in the EU as well and the US/NA servers.
2:29 p.m. EDT Tons of quest info in screenshot form after the break.
2:55 p.m. EDT All of the Alliance quests are documented after the break; the Horde quests are very similar.
5:50 p.m. EDT At some point, perhaps not in this phase of the invasion, the elementals will begin spawning in the cities. If you kill them in the city from their big spawn point, then you get a daily quest object/item that lets you go through a portal and kill one of the two new daily bosses for this event: Prince Sarsarun or Kai'ju Gahz'rilla.
That's all we have right now; however, please be aware that we'll update this post with any additional clarifying information we get in.

I'm Horde, but I assume you can use the equivalent if you're Alliance, since it's basically the same pathing. I've been running a circuit of Stonebreaker Hold (wind) -> Garadar (earth) -> Zabra'jin (water) - > Falcon Watch (fire). I've gone 4/4 on one toon, at worse 3/4 and had to wait an hour for the last one.

When you say "HEY! LET'S ALL HELP SCOUT FOR RIFTS!" it is IMPLIED that when you SEE the rift you tell EVERYONE that the rift has opened. "YOU CAN STILL GET THE QUEST!" I already did the quest. Eat Poop.

Uh... or you could sit there for 45-60 mins like the rest of the people did. I had to sit at spawn points for 40+ mins each time. If you weren't there, that's not my fault, I'm sorry. But I'm not going to extend the respawn timer for the next group just to wait for you. It's 60 mins from when the rift was killed, meaning if you wait, the time until the next respawn is later, and that's annoying.

this was in Magmoth and at the time I typed it everyone was saying "the spawn points are random. completely RANDOM!" which was crap. I really think i was just snowballed by the people who knew where it would spawn. the next time I camped the spot where the Elemental Core or whatever the name of the device spawned and sure enough exactly an hour later it showed up. but I YELLED in the whole zone: "AIR RIFT OPEN IN MAGMOTH!" and a priest and a Warlock showed up to finish it off.
Then I ported to Theramore and killed the fire elementals near the Armory and *bam* Tripping the Rifts. Thanks, Jerks! I wasn't asking for much...just a heads up. I mean, they didn't need to wait, but announcing the rift would have been super....especially when *I* am holding position at the scout point THEY suggested.
Again, I was just bitter about being scrumped. However, when people ask "Where are the rift points in Icecrown?" I tell them a Water spawns in Deathspeaker's Watch...near that big constuct that holds the prison of Kul the Restless. ...did you get that people who are looking for hints? it is not random. it spawns every hour. Don't work with groups. people are jerks.

Submit a ticket, a gm will talk to them if the do it again they could have there account suspended was told by a gm to do this on the forums awhile back during the echo isle's event

I feel your pain. Most of the 12 or so members of Goon Squad standing on the one scroll finally got the ban-hammer, after like.... 5 or 6 hours of people submitting tickets =\.

Can't be elementals, surely. That would give some utility to 'locks. Not possible. Beasts in elemental suits perhaps, or giants, or humanoids - yes, humanoids. That would give arcane mages a second button to press, if they maybe wanted to sheep them or something.
