The Shattering hits The New York Times best-seller list

The Shattering – New York Times Best SellerDespite having just been released earlier this week, The Shattering by Christie Golden has rocketed into the New York Times best seller list.
This prelude to Cataclysm follows major faction characters as they adjust to life after the war with the Lich King, before being abruptly attacked by the land and elements themselves. What is leading to these devastating earthquakes and ship-sinking squalls? Magni believes he has found the secret through his brother's research, while Thrall believes an already shattered world holds the secrets. If you're looking forward to the Cataclysm expansion, this is a must-read to catch you up and prepare you for the epic story about to be unveiled.
The book is available in the Blizzard Store (http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100001208) and all fine book retailers.

I really wanted to see more of Varian. don't want it to be about him, it just seems as if she brought up a potentially important storyline with Varian and didn't deliver.
To those who don't know what i'm talking about: Varian is apparently having a problem controlling his two sides (Varian and Lo'gosh) it has gotten so bad that he switches from Varian to Lo'Gosh in an instant. This could have potentially been a way form them to "redeem" Varian, but it just ended abruptly once Anduin was sent elsewhere

That's not something we should be addressing in a book, it's something we'll tackle in the game where more people will be engaged in his story and hopefully redeem him in the eyes of the players(as I predict Garrosh will be).

Oh, I just meant that I looked at her Wikipedia article and it looked like her whole bibliography was writing published fanfic like this Warcraft novels.

Lovely, Arthas was an amazing expansion of his character as a human being and The Shattering is a splendid, if short, excursion into the drama that engulfs the world leading up to Deathwing's entrance.
She hinted at it being a three parter or something, I hope it's true, both of her novels deserved to be Best Sellers, maybe now she'll get another important character novel rather than have those handed to the incapable hands of Knaak as with Stormrage.

I read The Shattering on the flight to Blizzcon and had the opportunity to tell Christie how much I enjoyed the book and how she presented the characters and cultures.
If you haven't read it or haven't been thrilled with many of the WoW novels, try The Shattering. It ranks with the best.

Great book.
Do yourselves a favor and read it!
If your too techy to read a paper book...just read it as a ebook as I did.

Christie Golden has always been a very entertaining author. Her official website doesn't list all of her books... but if you want to see some of her potential read "Vampire of the Mists" or "The Enemy Within." (both Ravenloft novels).

Yay for there being a Kindle version of the book!

Can I read this book without having read any other WoW book or will I be completely lost? I also don't really follow any of the lore stuff.
