Worgen druid flight form video from Wowhead
Well, what do you know! We figured that worgen and troll druids would just get recolors of existing druid flight forms, but it looks like we were wrong. The latest Cataclysm beta patch added a brand new Swift Flight Form model for worgen druids, so it's safe to assume that trolls will have one soon as well.
I'm liking the Gilnean flag on the back of the form, as well as the serrated beak and big feathery mane. Wonder what kinds of touches the troll form will get? Guess we'll have to wait and see! And hey, maybe this means we'll see new moonkin forms too. A dog can dream.

Why... does it have a flag on its back... that looks really stupid and totally non-druidic. Meh, I'm still going to roll a Worgen druid. :)
watspr02 Nov 3rd 2010 11:45PM
Yeah, I agree with the flag being stupid. It's almost like an advertising spot for the country rather than something druidic (is that even a word?). I half expect the worgens to be able to change it to "Eat at Joes" for a 10g every week advertising fee. Maybe a "Worgens Clothing, where nothing is made out of fur" sign?

Pretty nice, although I'll never level a worgen anywhere near 70 so it doesn't really matter to me. Werewolves are just so passé.

I should abandon hope for a different form for those of use who finished the 17 step quest chain and *earned* it rather than picking it up at the corner store with a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread.

From what I understand, class specific quests are being pulled from the game with Cataclysm. Now, the class mount quests may still be there, but I doubt it. :-/

use = us
(Excuse - eating Oreos and typing requires multitasking skills evidently beyond my capability)

As cool as that'd be (I did the chain on my first Druid when you had to) how much can you really add to an already Epic bird? Jet packs=shot.
All I could think of is maybe an extra layer of prettier feathers, but there's nothing you can really add without getting into the realm of the ridiculous that'd make it stand out from "regular" epic flying.

I agree that the Druids, Paladins, and Warlocks who did their mount / form quests should have SOME distinction over the people who chose not to or couldn't. At least with us Druids, we used to have the distinction of being the only ones able to summon Anzu...

don't you get a feat of strength for completing the orginal quests? isn't that enough? 8( u gotta think about the casual, n00b player, who will never understand how to clear the quest and will get really frustrated if he can't learn to fly like the other druids.
Kylenne Nov 3rd 2010 10:14PM
@Stephen, all those classes got Feat of Strengths for completing the quest chains. Sadly, it's not called "You're a Special, Unique Snowflake".

I still don't get why people EVER thought the new Druid races would be stuck using placeholders forever. Blizzard's in the process of making a whole new expansion, you think they somehow won't have time to work on this? They're working on everything! Now that this has been found I wouldn't be surprised if Moonkin form comes along soon, as it's my belief that they'll announce the revamped old ones alongside the new ones; only makes sense to do them all together.
Though I do wonder about the Troll form. As many have said, bat makes most sense, but if they're making a bat form that'll require using a model that isn't entirely made yet (bats exist, but they're models are too dated for a fancy Epic form).

"I still don't get why people EVER thought the new Druid races would be stuck using placeholders forever."
Travel form says hi.
Scunosi Nov 3rd 2010 11:55PM
Good point, but in an expansion where almost everything's being redone, you'd think they'd really want to polish the new offerings since this is a graphic overhaul as much as a game overhaul.
Or at least just the new Worgen, maybe Troll will get stuck with a placeholder cuz they're old so obviously no one cares. :P

Are those ears sticking up there?
All hail dog-bird! Wait.... man-dog bird? o_O

Since the Worgen one has the GIlnean crest on its back, will the Night Elven, Tauren, and Troll ones also have their respective crests on their respective flight forms' backs?
Harvoc Nov 3rd 2010 10:08PM
Also, since the Worgen one is different from the Night Elven one, shouldn't the Night Elven one also differ from the Tauren one then. If this were to happen, I'd wish for the Tauren to change their form as the Storm Crow fits the Night Elves well. I'd prefer it to be in the form of the 3 Swoop models found in the Tauren starting zone of Milgore: Swoop, Taloned Swoop, or Wiry Swoop.
sherekhan88 Nov 3rd 2010 10:12PM
Uh, the Tauren and Nelf ones have always been quite different. Only the regular Flight Form is a recolor of the storm crow model for the Tauren. If you never got Swift Flight Form, the Tauren Swift Flight Form is distinctive from the Nelf one, what with the different color, ornaments, and well, horns.
Harvoc Nov 3rd 2010 10:18PM
After comparing the Night Elven Druid Flight Forms and the Swoop models, I think they're too similar. The only differences are a "mane" of white feathers surrounding the neck of the Swoops and their red ( I think the Wiry Swoop model has blue talons, but it may just be a trick of the lighting as the Wowhead screenshot is very dark) talons. Some may prefer only a slight change but others might think that switching to a Wind Serpent model like those found in the Tauren's original homeland, the Barrens, would be better. Critics of this idea might say that it's too similar to what a Troll Druid Flight Form could be, but with most supporting a Bat model, I think it isn't half bad. Besides there are no other beasts that can fly that are found in either the Barrens or Mulgore.
Harvoc Nov 3rd 2010 10:22PM
Correct me if I'm wrong as the Tauren Druid Swift Flight Forms and the Night Elf Druid Swift Flight Forms look as if they share the same model. Besides, wouldn't changing it still accomplish something as those who don't have Swift Flight Form have to sit with having the same model as their opposite faction's. At least that's my opinion.
Narshe Nov 3rd 2010 10:28PM
This Worgen flight form model is the same used from both the Tauren and Night Elf versions, just changed slightly in appearance. Its not like this is a brand new model or anything.
