Sweet!
I can't imagine something more likely to turn off new players than watching the guy you were supposed to turn your quest in to being slaughtered by someone many, many levels above you, and then sitting on your hands waiting for them to respond...
Especially since it's not like lowbies can go and do something else while they wait; the starting experience is fairly linear, and it's not like they can just go queue up for a dungeon or BG while they wait...
Personally, though, I hope they keep this quiet. I'd much rather the people who think it's funny to go around griefing newbies for no personal gain find out about this change first hand...

^This
I didn't play WoW until Dec. 2008 so everyone was 80 and had been playing longer than me and people were always coming in and killing the NPCs in Ashenvale and Darkshore and elsewhere, one time a group was just killing them on respawn, waiting, then doing it again. I got so mad, lvl 28 me shot at them and I was insta killed in response of course. Then I logged off and didn't play for two days out of frustration.
Any chance the flight masters will be buffed to lvl 90? I've got 310 flying these days so no concern to me, but when I relied on the FPs, it sucked having to wait for those to respawn when a jerk decided to camp them and kill them.

SO true! Waiting on the FPs to respawn is the worst. The groups that just kill the npcs/fps on respawn do it because they know someone is waiting. There were 2 horde people doing this in gadget one night for a solid HOUR. I can't imagine how much fun it was for them to squash the same fp over and over again, aside from the grief they knew it was causing to people waiting. And they stand right ON the spawn point, so its impossible to get a click in before they start again. Such an annoyance, flights should be buffed as well.

They could just keep this change a sort of "Secret"
Stay with me! ...Make it appear as though the guards are weak, 75? 80? Whatever works in Cata, And just buff the damage they do and there health pools once engaged.. Have a sort of "Last Stand" Effect proc when they engage in combat! with a nice enrage for the big dps boost. Suprise the players! haha.
Anyway, This is a nice change although I've never heard of anyone griefing newbie starting zones.

@Blacksheep:
Have you watched a Flight Master when he's attacked? The mounts waiting beside him become active and attack, too! I LOVE IT. I don't know if that's something that's always been there, but I love that the "taxi" allies get involved.
(I'm not asking that in a confrontational manner - more like, "Hey, have you seen this neat thing??")
I do agree that the FPs need buffing as well.

Flight Masters? heh heh....
I'd have my own brand of surprise for those....
If you kill (or participate in the kill) a FM, the next one spawns ~right~ away, and he/she be MAD!
One bird spawns for every participant, and it follows you EVERYWHERE, it finds you if you hearth, it finds you when you log back in, it never stops until you're DEAD. Oh, and it's immune to all damage. You can't enter instances while one of these is on your trail, either.
If you're fool enough to stick around, though, The re-spawned FM will cleave all enemies for a % of their health, not a fixed amount. The cleave has no CD, and hits for 75% health, and damages your gear for 100% durability.
How do you like that repair bill? Jerks should be made to pay like this. If you're not a jerk, and want to avoid this while attacking a town? No problem: leave the FM alone. It wouldn't aggro unless attacked (as i believe it works now).
Are you happy i'm not a developer? Heh heh.... yeah, i can be pretty mean.

How about if you attack a flight master, one of the flying beasts picks you up and flies off with you, dropping you at a random location in another zone? Then you have to hoof it back and can't camp them.
