Breakfast Topic: Which Cataclysm zone are you most excited about?

All of us are anxiously awaiting Cataclysm's going live. Wrath is winding down and people are anxiously anticipating the new content. Some want new raids, some want new dungeons, some want new quests, some want to make goblins or worgen. Some of us are just really excited to see the changes to the old zones, and some just want to get right into the level 80 to 85 content.
I myself am in the beta. I have played it as it has evolved since the friends and family alpha, and I have watched some of the zones go from buggy and near unplayable, with quests not yet implemented, to being far more fleshed-out and nearly ready to go live. I love Hyjal. It has an epic feel; you are right in there battling to reclaim the zone from the Twilight Cultists and the elementals. Deepholm is equally amazing. In the revamped zones, I thoroughly enjoyed the CSI-inspired murder quest chain in Westfall. I have made both a goblin and a worgen and must say, the goblin starting area and Azshara should not be missed. Everyone should make a Horde character and complete the Azuregos and Kalecgos quests in Azshara. On the other hand, I feel Gilneas is a little overscripted and Darkshore is still a little odd.
There is a lot of the world I want to see when Cataclysm launches, but there are places I want to see more than others. Where are you most interested in exploring when Cataclysm comes out? What do you absolutely have to see, and what quests do you want to do? What particular zone excites you the most? Or are you just in it for new dungeons, raids and new shiny epics?

to be honest there is not really one zone in particular, its more the whole experience of familiar areas completely changed that im interested in. although an altered westfall sounds interesting ^_^

Since I'm jumping up and down like a Goblin who had too much Kaja'mite at the prospest of rolling a Goblin, I would have to say... the Goblin starter zones! :D

I agree with this 100000000000000%
5 years of my life has been spent waiting for the day when I'd actually get to make a Goblin. Now, seeing as their starting zones are some of the best i've ever seen, i'm giddy like a young girl at a Hanna Montana concert.

This. I'm racechanging my main to a goblin, and rolling a gob alt right at the start.
All they need now is naga as a playable race; that's the only thing holding my wife up from playing!

I still want playable Walrus Men with customizable Wilford Brimley 'stache and diabeetus racial.

People are weird--I have no clue why your comment was downrated.

Oh nvm I see it's because it's a repeat. Silly me, time for more coffee.

Hyjal. I was unfortunately never able to get there when the barriers were still exploitable, and the instance was alright, but you didn't really have time to explore it if you wanted to live.
I'm definitely looking forward to flying around there.

If you don't start the event in the COT version of Mount Hyjal you can explore at your leisure, (avoid the scourge village though) though that's probably more something to do when bored at 80 than when it was cutting edge content :)

I have quested through them all and I like Hyjal the best.
Rakah Nov 8th 2010 8:06AM
i'm going hyjal first :)

Of the 80-85 zones, I liked all of them although I was a little disappointed in Uldum. Harrison Jones is good as a side-story sort of way, but there was too much of him in Uldum imo. I wanted more of the Ramkahen storyline and more lore about them in general, especially with the build-up to Al'akir and the Four Winds. But I got my lore-fillup and a lot more in the next zone in Twilight Highlands.
As far as the 1-60 experience goes, oh boy where to begin? Blizzard has done an absolute bang-up job on the levelling experience, and though I'm just a one-character player (I still don't have a real alt per-se on the live realms), I'll definitely be making multiple alts in Cataclysm to experience the stories in all the zones on both continents. Can't say enough good things about the 1-60 experience, it's leagues above the current live game.

On the other end of the scale, the zone I am immensely disappointed with is Silithus. Here is a zone that was the Twilight's Hammer hotbed back in Classic and with Twilight's Hammer playing such a big part in this expansion, Silithus didn't get much of a makeover, if any. Sometimes you can't do anything but hate deadlines. :(

@ Knob: Actually, Silithus is the only zone that hasnt undergone any testing so Im hoping there will be updates to it soon. With a month left Im not sure what the hold up is, though.

Unfortunately, that list hasn't been updated for a long time. Going by Afrasiabi's comment here: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=27026862445&postId=270238806331&sid=2000#4 Silithus will not be changed any more.

Honestly? I'm excited for them all.
I'm excited for the revamped cities, the changed zones, the unchanged (but still probably changed subtly) zones, the places I'll never see again, the places I HAVEN'T seen yet.
I wasn't lucky enough to get a beta invite, so beyond all of the talent/ability changes, all of the zone changes and new features of Cataclysm are super fresh to me.
I am excited for the WHOLE thing. Come onn, December 8th! (I have exams until then. SUPER WILL POWER TIME GO GO GO)
Vogie Nov 8th 2010 8:57AM
Same here. I'm really excited about all of them, since I stopped checking to see if I had a beta invite around september, I haven't experienced it outside of the occasional BRK or TotalHalibut video.
And with 4 geared 80s and an army of alts, soon to be joined by a Worgen Warrior, I'm going to hit everything that's new.
