Breakfast Topic: Which Cataclysm zone are you most excited about?

All of us are anxiously awaiting Cataclysm's going live. Wrath is winding down and people are anxiously anticipating the new content. Some want new raids, some want new dungeons, some want new quests, some want to make goblins or worgen. Some of us are just really excited to see the changes to the old zones, and some just want to get right into the level 80 to 85 content.
I myself am in the beta. I have played it as it has evolved since the friends and family alpha, and I have watched some of the zones go from buggy and near unplayable, with quests not yet implemented, to being far more fleshed-out and nearly ready to go live. I love Hyjal. It has an epic feel; you are right in there battling to reclaim the zone from the Twilight Cultists and the elementals. Deepholm is equally amazing. In the revamped zones, I thoroughly enjoyed the CSI-inspired murder quest chain in Westfall. I have made both a goblin and a worgen and must say, the goblin starting area and Azshara should not be missed. Everyone should make a Horde character and complete the Azuregos and Kalecgos quests in Azshara. On the other hand, I feel Gilneas is a little overscripted and Darkshore is still a little odd.
There is a lot of the world I want to see when Cataclysm launches, but there are places I want to see more than others. Where are you most interested in exploring when Cataclysm comes out? What do you absolutely have to see, and what quests do you want to do? What particular zone excites you the most? Or are you just in it for new dungeons, raids and new shiny epics?

Gotta say: Gilneas and the other Worgen areas. (Like Surwich, in the Blasted Lands.) It's not the whole werewolf thing, it's not the lore (though both have me excited beyond belief...) but, damn, I'm a sucker for a dark, brooding Victorian look.
And as a patriotic gnome, I also have to say the idea of having our own capital back (sort of) fills me with deep gnomish pride.

I second Gilneas. I'm not a huge lore seeker but that particular lore seems to pull me in. Also Duskwood is one of my favorite zones and I find it kind of similar. I am also looking forward to Uldum/Tanaris and just experiencing all the changes in the new "old world".

I'm excited about the changes to GM island-apparently that's where Deathwing will hang out before his patch, and where the GMs play out the next expansions mechanics.
Also, I hear Old Ironforge's statues are being repaired due to erosion.

I'm just looking forward the whole thing, but perhaps most to Hyjal. That zone will probably feel the closest to a classic zone, and it has Ragnaros and his buddies.
Also, from the Choose My Adventure streams, it seems the Forsaken 1-20 zones will be quite awesome.

Gnomergedan, Goblin starter zones. My wife and I have already picked out toons (goblin of course), so she'll be back playing with me again after 2 years. Really looking forward to that.

I'm hoping for significant differences to the starting zones, particularly the blood elf zone which I have got thoroughly sick of. For a while now I've been culling the characters I haven't played much to conserve slots, both server-wide and account-wide, but I plan to re-roll - both the new races and new combinations - as soon as possible. My 80 hunter is about as far as she can go without raiding, so rather than spend too much more on gear which will be obsolete in a month's time, I'm keeping her ticking over with dailies and so on in order to experience the new content.

I'm sorry to tell you, but the Draenei and Blood Elf starter areas were not changed.

Yeah, you'll have to wait for The March of Sargeras or something to see BC content get revamped.

Vash'ir! (or where-ever you put that apostrophe... ) I can't wait to swim everywhere, and get my very own SEAHORSE! :D
adamjgp Nov 8th 2010 1:28PM
What is this? A seahorse seashell party?
Trilynne Nov 8th 2010 1:34PM
try saying that 5 times fast xP

Don't know if this is really what you meant by "zone" but the new Orgrimmar looks AWESOME and I can't wait to get to fly around and check it out :)

Garrosh may be a tool and trying wayy too hard to live up to Grom's legendary status, but you have to admit that his architecture is pretty awesome. Orgrimmar and Steamwheedle Harbor are going to be *the* hangout spots. New Cleft of Shadow is gonna be so sweet. The whole city, actually.

Since *I'm* jumping up and down like a Goblin who has had too much Kaja'mite...I'm looking forward to the revamp of old zones, and - since I'm switching mains to a Goblin Shammy - the new high level zones. Actually, I'm pretty much excited about the whole Expansion. This being my first Expansion for WoW, and I've only been playing since Wrath, I'm pretty much WoW crazy right now. Everything is still new and I'm extremely enamored with Lore, leveling, Achievements, Hunters, Death Knights, Shamans, Priests & Warlocks. And Mages. And Goblins. And the flying. And professions. And the game.

Azshara hands down. It went from the Plane of Suck to the most awesome place EVAR all thanks to our Goblin pals.
Mike Nov 8th 2010 8:58AM
Silverpine was the most epic for me. A must see if you are any level of Horde.
lsschwartz Nov 8th 2010 8:59AM
For me it's Uldum. Gotta love the "Egyptian" style, it just looks grandiose.
Kittens Nov 8th 2010 9:07AM
Silverpine. So far still THE best zone I have seen in beta. Really. It should be mandatory to play through it hehe
I have been far more excited about the revamped old zones that the new ones. Sure, the new ones are super, but I couldn't tear myself away from the awesome changes that were made to the ones we all knew before! Some other zones definitely not to miss:
Westfall
Redridge Mountains
Eastern & Western Plaguelands
the Cape of Stranglethorn
both worgen starting zones
the Lost Isles
Of the 80+ ones I love Uldum most so far. Harrison Jones adventures! That can't be topped :D
DTpwnz Nov 8th 2010 9:21AM
Hyjal, because it's always been this epic, sealed off land..
