The Queue: Theme song
Hello, WoW Insider community. I'm sure you've heard of me -- I'm Mathew, one of the co-hosts of the WoW Insider Show, probably the best WoW podcast ever*. Our show is pretty great! However, we are desperately lacking one very crucial component: a theme song. We need a theme song.
So, community, I beg and beseech you, help us come up with a theme song for our awesome podcast. Suggest something, record something, give us ideas, anything. We want to hear your input! I have personally added my selection to the top of The Queue, as I believe punk/heavy metal versions of Ke$ha songs will more than likely bring us the listenership we deserve.

Everyone on the planet asked:
How can we contribute ideas for the WoW Insider Show theme song?
Great question, everyone. Here are the ways to help us out:
- Comment in this thread
- Send an email to theshow@wow.com with the subject "Theme song"
- Tell us on Twitter by following @wowinsidershow
Face asked:
I was never clear on what faction capitals would be with the worgen and goblin stuff ... do they share, since their homelands are "lost"?
The Bilgewater Cartel goblins are basically getting two new places to call home: a district in Orgrimmar called the Goblin Slums as well as the new Bilgewater Harbor in Azshara, complete with giant cannon. Goblins are also ever-present in the Horde, popping up alongside all of the Horde races all over Azeroth. They have been firmly integrated into the Horde in every aspect.
The worgen, on the other hand, are given a tree in Darnassus called The Howling Oak, which serves as a type of druid enclave as well as general worgen headquarters of sorts, until they can wrest their homeland back from the Forsaken's onslaught. At one point, worgen were supposed to have a district in Stormwind, but either that was scrapped or Deathwing decided to destroy it. Also, worgen pop up from time to time (healing the lands and helping out the night elves or being recruited into the Argent Crusade), but nowhere near as seamlessly as the goblins, for the most part.
Arizor asked:
I'm planning to buy a new computer before Deathwing bursts through into Azeroth.
My question is: How might I save my addon configurations (and I assume the addons themselves might come along for the journey, if not, doesn't matter -- it's the settings I care about) onto a memory stick or some such device so that I can just load them in and not spend hours reconfiguring everything again?
I doubt it would matter, but it'll be from Vista to Windows 7.
Thanks!
One of the coolest features of World of Warcraft is that the game doesn't do any tricky, weird DLL or registry sharing and such for Windows machines. You can copy your entire WoW folder onto an external drive or separate hard disk in your computer, install the new hardware, copy over the folder and be perfectly fine. Just remember to make sure all the account and character names match up in the WTF folder structure, and you should be good to go.
If you do not want to copy over the whole folder, keep your Interface folder and your WTF folder intact, and you should be all right.
Adonas Hydraxis asked:
With the Sunwell intact, shouldn't blood elves' eyes change from green to a normal glow since they are no longer addicted to fel energies as their source?
I think it would be pretty cool if, over time, the blood elves' addiction subsided and they regained their regular eye color. However, I would imagine they are staying green because of the lingering fel energy, or it is a byproduct of an old dependency -- much like how the orcs are still green, even though their demonic taint was removed after Grom killed Mannoroth.
It would be an awesome customization step for Blizzard to maybe let some races change a bit to accommodate new styles or the new realities in game, like having the option of changing your orc's skin color due to the absence of demonic magic or clearing up those green eyes. We're getting a ton of new hairstyles, so you never know ...

Strangely enough...I already recorded one after the Zozo theme at the end of a recent podcast made me realize you didn't have one...
Yeah, that's what happens when I get too bored one weekend afternoon.
Guess I'll send it over tonight.

Well, I uploaded it on my lunch break, so I suppose I might as well post the link up here against my better judgment:

Right now I'd definitely cast my vote for this because it's actually a podcast intro song, which makes it way more suited to the task than all the totally-not-WoW-related, "here's a funny thing I found on YouTube" stuff posted below. (To be fair, the ear poison that McCurley embedded didn't exactly steer them in the right direction.)
It should probably be made more clear whether they're specifically looking for an actual theme song like yours, or just backing music for their lead-in, or if submissions of both sorts are acceptable.

Reminded me of MST3K a bit, lol!

"Suggest something, record something, give us ideas, anything."
I think they're open to either, Grovin. To be fair, though, probably nobody else just happened to have a podcast intro laying around because, let's face it...that's a really ****ing odd thing to have. :(
Quine Nov 8th 2010 6:11PM
I agree with Grovin... that Ke$ha rock cover would completely steer me in the other direction from the podcast.

That was really, really cool, (cutaia). My vote is for either this or the Zozo theme the guys did a while back. ^_^
Michael Sacco Nov 8th 2010 9:04PM
Well, I'm sold.
Mathew Nov 8th 2010 11:45PM
cutaia, this is probably the best thing ever.
Rhüarc Nov 9th 2010 1:19AM
Once again, Cutaia saves the day! I definitely give that theme my vote, and if anybody's listening, Cutaia gets my vote for the WowInsider mascot if they ever decide they need one.

Woot! Then it's settled.
Of course, there should be a backup plan in case of legal ramifications. For this purpose, I'd suggest the Penis Song.

What can I say? Found it on YouTube.

I know it dated but I still love it:

Hey you're even in it Sacco!

Just want to know if the zozo theme was the song from the town in final fantasy 3/6? If so, I'd just like to say that that game was the best FF!
chris Nov 8th 2010 11:06AM
in regards to the blood elf eye change and orc skin color. the big picture is blizz needs to update the character models period.

When you log out your Goblin and log in with your Troll it's like turning off the Nintendo Wii to play the Nintendo 64.
(cutaia) Nov 8th 2010 11:37AM
Why do they call it a Nintendo 64?
Cause when you see it, you turn 64 degrees to your left, see your Wii and play that instead.
Wait...that's not how that goes...
roseclown Nov 8th 2010 11:40AM
Urgh, so true. I love my Trolls, but looking at them in modelviewer next to the goblins...

Malenx Nov 8th 2010 12:02PM
@Cutia - Nintendo 64 had a 64 bit cpu that made it a freakin powerhouse for gaming, the most powerful console at it's time.
It was big deal back in the day.
(cutaia) Nov 8th 2010 12:12PM
Malenx,
Fascinating. While you're out correcting jokes, perhaps you could please tell me the real reason the chicken crossed the road. I've a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't actually to get to the other side.
JT Nov 8th 2010 12:16PM
@Malenx
*whoosh*
That was the sound of the joke flying over your head.
