Lil' Ragnaros and Moonkin Hatchling pets preview
Blizzard is previewing the two pets that will be offered this month in the Blizzard Store: Lil' Ragnaros and the Moonkin Hatchling. Lil' Ragnaros, pictured above, will not be associated with a charity. As reported before, however, a portion of the proceeds from the Moonkin Hatchling will be going to a charity that has yet to be named. Blizzard has not announced when these pets will be available to purchase or for how much. If they keep the same pricing as last year, however, the pets will be $10.00 (EUR 10,00) each.
The full announcement by Blizzard and action shots of the hatchling are after the break.
It looks like the hatchling comes in different models for each faction. Here is the Alliance one.

They're cute, they're portable, and they're coming to the Blizzard Pet Store. But before they arrive, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of our two newest companions: Lil' Ragnaros and the Moonkin Hatchling. As announced at BlizzCon, the Moonkin Hatchling will follow in the charitable footsteps of the Pandaren Monk, with sales helping to benefit a good cause. More details, including the availability date and specific plans for the charity partnership, will be announced in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned!

And below is pictured the Horde hatchling.
No word yet on the animations for either pet, though it's obvious that the Moonkin Hatchling can fly at least a little bit. I'm afraid that at least one of these will have to be mine. I think the hatchling will be a better companion for my sparkle pony, and then I can rationalize the purchase as helping charity. Will you be getting one or both as well?Filed under: Blizzard, News items

Its so cute im gonna die!!!!!!!!!! Can you buy either model , or is it based on yoru faction, like can i have the horde boomkin on my dwarf?

From a Blue Blizzard post:
Just to clarify for everyone, the Moonkin Hatchling is two pets in one and will correspond to the faction that you are using to summon it with. So, if you are on an Alliance character, you will summon the Alliance version of the pet. If you are on a Horde character, you will summon the Horde version.

Man it is so cute it's insane. It also looks like it's a decent size rather than the Wyvern cub and Gryphon hatchling.
Wulfkin Nov 9th 2010 3:34PM
The Horde one is cuter :P
jimbobfredsamuel Nov 9th 2010 3:43PM
You are now aware that these hatchlings have higher poly models than the actual Moonkin form model.
roseclown Nov 9th 2010 4:52PM
@Jimbob
So is the Wing Rider Cub next to the actual Wing Riders.
/winces at insanely low polly model.
...Wait, I'm supposed to be dead.

GIGANTIC EYES ARE GIGANTIC.
But so cute...
Duulket Nov 9th 2010 1:03PM
I want to get both but it depends on whether I have the money to spend on them.
Gryph Nov 10th 2010 6:11AM
Same would go for me. THe problem is, that it's more expensive in Europe than USA :/
Approx:
$10 = 60 SEK
10€ = 90 SEK
Too bad you live in Europe...
Mister Wratten Nov 9th 2010 1:03PM
Totally going to get both of them, though the Moonkin Hatchling is far more awesome.
Docseuzz Nov 9th 2010 1:39PM
Heck. .. I'm gonna have to respec back to boomkin just to match. ..
Fenn Nov 9th 2010 1:05PM
I think I'm going to have to get both - there's simply no choice in the matter!
:)

Lil' Ragnaros isn't all that lil'.
My only hope is that he'll bug for the first week and Stormwind will be filled with the constant sound of "Too soon, Executus!"
Saeadame Nov 9th 2010 1:22PM
Yes, Rag seems huge. If that's the regular size, that's pretty awesome.
Haha... I want the Rag to bug too =P.
Narayana Nov 9th 2010 1:52PM
I'm pretty excited to toss an Ol' Pappa Hummel's on that guy and see how big he gets.
Felix_NZ Nov 9th 2010 4:13PM
