The Daily Quest: Can I get some directions?

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Not only do the NPCs of Dalaran have an amazing assortment of unusual and entertaining names, they're also extremely helpful at figuring out how to get from point A to point B. Let's take a look at a few other helpful posts from here and there:
- Cynwise's Battlefield Manual lets us know how warlock DoTs work in Cataclysm.
- Feraltree has a how-to guide and video for two-manning 10-man Sapphiron.
- Disciplinary Action tells us how to play World of Warcraft ... on a treadmill!
- Lastly, Need More Rage has an eloquently divine guide on dealing with annoying people.

I enjoy reading and finding other wow websites.

For some reason, I read that as "...two-manning 10 man Sindragosa." and there were bricks involved. Realizing it was Sapphiron made a lot more sense.

I remember two-manning Sapph for an EoE key, as a warlock and priest. Part of our strategy was for me to die when I went oom and use the soulstone, at which point I would be given a second one upon revival. (Improved Death, baby!)
The voidwalker had to tank it, which was no easy feat when you remember that pet classes weren't given the ability to tell their pets where to go until 4.0.1! I remember getting my face cleaved by Sapph because of healing aggro, bad voidwalker pathing, bad voidwalker placement. Voidwalkers make terrible tanks.
I remember hitting release spirit instead of soulstone resurrection once, too. Ooooh, that warlock won't let me live that down. Good times though.
PoM is seriously overpowered for that fight. Lightwell was pretty amazing, too. I love playing a Holy priest. Best class in the game, hands down.
We went in there a few weeks later for another key, but brought a druid with us. GotW really trivialized the healing. Didn't have to deal with a stupid voidwalker, either. Or abusing soulstones and healthstones. I'd take three-manning Sapph over two-manning it any week of the month. (Until Cataclysm?)

Man, I had never thought of exercising while playing WoW. I have an exercise bike, but a terribly short attenion span - I hate using it, and when I do, I can barely go on for more than 5 minutes. That article inspired me to duct tape a food tray between the handlebars - my laptop fits perfectly, and since I only ever use a mousepad anyway, I can do everything on the bike :D
I find it rather pathetic that I'm anticipating being able to cycle for miles without even noticing.

I'm going to try to rig my recumbent bike up somehow too, but I only have a desktop pc =/

If you can position your screen close to the bike, all you'd need is a flat surface between the bars or attached to the display (if you have one) on which to place your keyboard and mouse, I'm sure. :)

Awesome! :D Yeah, it's kind of RIDICULOUS how far I can walk without even noticing. "Oh- huh, that was eight miles. But more importantly, three levels!" It's the perfect thing for those of us whose importance-o-meter skews WoW-ward.

Vanilla WoW - A Retrospective. I'll be going through Vanilla, BC, and Wrath, and summing up what I liked, what I didn't like, and what's improved since then.
Enjoy!

Related to the intro to the article but not the meat of it....
I enjoy asking the guards in Ironforge where the blacksmith trainer is. There's a strong sense of /facepalm in the response.

A treadmill set to walk at a brisk pace would be nice, but I think it'd be great to game on an exercise bike.
Durinthal Nov 12th 2010 6:22PM
I don't remember where I first heard the idea of gaming while on a treadmill, but it was mentioned in one of the Penny Arcade TV episodes (I think "Family"). Mike/Gabe showed off his setup that included a wall-mounted monitor and a custom wooden stand on top of the treadmill for the mouse and keyboard.
I don't really have the room/money for such a setup myself right now, though I'm currently looking for a pedal exerciser to go with my current desk as a cheap version.
Dendaris Nov 12th 2010 6:33PM
A pedal exerciser is a good strategy, but alas, I have no way to fit one under my desk and have room for my legs... I certainly wouldn't have room for my legs to go through the motions of pedaling.
Durinthal Nov 12th 2010 7:14PM
I'm a little concerned about it not fitting as well, but if that's the case I'll just find a way to raise my desk or otherwise reconfigure my environment to work.

In the latest update in Asilventures, I post a compilation of anonymous "post cards" I had received from various players and NPC's that detailed their "WoW Secrets" (Parodying Postsecret). So join Frankwarrior and enjoy in the secrets of other player's WoW lives.
