The Queue: Hotlanta

Honestly, I have no idea if it's hot or not. I'm writing this Queue from the Atlanta airport at 6:30 in the morning after a red-eye from California, and I still have another flight to go.
Pancakes asked:
What's to become of draenei paladin chargers (or at least, what happened on beta)? I know we're getting elekks when 4.0.3 rolls around, but do we get to keep our horsies?
No, your horses turn into elekks. If you're concerned, don't be -- the Great Exarch's Elekk looks really cool.
Steelvoltage asked:
Is the journey from level 80 to level 85 equivalent to, say, level 60 to 70 was with Outland or 70 to 80 was with Wrath? I mean, I know it will take different people different amount of times, but I was wondering if there was that much content and high XP curve.
You can go from 80 to 85 in well under 24 hours /played if you don't do a lot of dawdling.
Bigcountryinil asked:
Anyone know if you can do the Ghouls vs. Peacebloom quest line without installing Cata? I hope so; this way I have something to do as I wait for it to show up on my doorstep.
Yes, since it's level 20ish content and is located in Hillsbrad, you can play it without your account being upgraded to Cataclysm.
Shammowh asked:
Will elemental shaman have to deal with a bunch of immunities to most of our spells in places like Deepholm?
Nope!
Eregos ftw! asked:
How long has Sacco been growing his beard?
Not at all. I'm lucky to be able to grow sideburns and my mustaches fall squarely into creepy-uncle territory. I don't bother with facial hair.

"Will elemental shaman have to deal with a bunch of immunities to most of our spells in places like Deepholm?
Nope!"
THANK GOD! ...and blizzard for thinking of us ele shamans. :)

This is a sensible change for most casters who are pigeonholed into a one or two schools of magic. It's another step of removal from pen and paper RPGs, but for the purposes of what WoW has grown into, it makes sense.
Having to balance around making a fire mage respec or just go AFK, or only allowing half of a moonkin's spells is archaic in the context of the game now. It's a change that makes designing much simpler and makes it easier to play whatever class/spec you want.
Well done Blizz.

Im still hoping for a mini-marrowgar.
Revynn Nov 12th 2010 11:39AM
Reply fail.
Was supposed to go with the anniversary pet question below.
RunAmok Nov 12th 2010 11:50AM
Agreed, thank goodness!
frugality Nov 12th 2010 1:33PM
I approve of this change. This isn't Diablo 2 on hell difficulty, as much fun as it was constructing a build that was able to solo all immunities.
Lemons Nov 12th 2010 6:03PM
Sensible change? Nothing has changed at all...mobs that are immune to certain types of magic have been mostly removed from WoW ever since WotLK. I know...I play a rogue, so I'm always dealing nature damage in the form of poisons, and the only mobs I can think of in wrath that are straight up immune to nature damage are a few slimes at the entrance to plague quarter in naxx.
So there's really nothing to be excited about here unless you just emerged from a cryogenic chamber after being frozen for 2 years.
Scunosi Nov 12th 2010 7:04PM
Based on this question, and the Rogue reply. Currently a lot of mobs in Sunken Temple are immune to nature spells, including pretty much all the dragon bosses. This is one of those dungeons you end up seeing a lot of once you reach its bracket, any chance they've removed the immunities?
And what about elementals in the overworld? Earth and Wind have usually been immune to Nature until you get into OL and NR.

And thanks, Blizz, for not introducing some kind of new "spell resistance penetration" stat that we have to stack to absurd levels in order to be able to do 70% of our damage to creatures that are normally immune to it at the expense of most other offensive stat options, while we're at it :p

Any guesses on a 6th anniversary pet?
Lipstick Nov 12th 2010 11:08AM
I want a moose!
rich Nov 12th 2010 11:10AM
I'm guessing their answer hasn't changed since yesterday's The Queue:
"No idea, yet. We'll just have to wait and find out."
Hob Nov 12th 2010 11:21AM
4th anniversary pet was cute polar bear cub - tied in with the launch of Wrath (a bit distressing since the cub actually resides in Dragonblight, and will attack you...)
5th anniversary pet was "cute" Onyxia whelp - tied in to revamped Onyxia raid.
6th anniversary pet... hmmm... a mini agitated fire spirit or agitated earth spirit?
Or some other kind of elemental being?
A goblin orphan for the Horde, or worgen orphan for the Alliance? Or vice versa?
A mini tol'vir?
Some kind of Egyptian-themed mini-mob?
Ooh, ooh, I hope it's a silithid or qiraji watcher! (I know, I know, it won't be...)

Two words: Baby Camel.
SunGod228 Nov 12th 2010 11:46AM
How about a Richard Dean Anderson companion similar to the Etheral TCG loot to go with the Stargate theme!!!
Joakim Nov 12th 2010 11:48AM
A pony with pink body and the most beutiful blue hair. It comes with a virtual comb and stable, so you can comb your ponys beutiful hair and brag about it while earning lots of gold from housing other players ponies in your virtual stable.
May contain small parts - i.e, bits.
Amaxe Nov 12th 2010 12:20PM
I think the moose is a druid form coming up...

I so wanted Lil' Alexstrasza as the pet. But she's been taken out.
I wonder which version it would have been. I would have loved either,
but it would have been especially neat to run around with her in her
elf form. That might have been what got it pulled, if it was her in
her elf form, which I don't think it was, Blizzard might have thought
all the people running around with her might have been a little silly.
Josin Nov 12th 2010 1:38PM
Lil' Alexstrazsa would've been awesome as a little chibi-version of her non-dragon form. But I can also see where it might've been a bit too "Dateline: To Catch A Predator" to have a scantily-clad child-hooker following you around. Probably why it got pulled.
Though I suspect it would've just been a red whelpling of some sort.
RothKeahi Nov 12th 2010 1:52PM
I am still pretty sure it is gonna be the celestial dragon pet that they datamined back with the steed.
