Breakfast Topic: What is your favorite class ability?

With all this focus on new disasters, races, and abilities coming in Cataclysm, it's easy to forget about all the awesome things our characters can do right now. Mages can teleport, fury warriors can dual wield two-handed weapons, shaman can turn into a Ghost Wolf. Ghost Wolf --- that even sounds cool.
My main toon is a holy paladin. Although I did level most of the first 60 levels as holy (yes, it went very, very slowly), I blasted through the last 20 levels and the instances that fill them as retribution. At level 80, I wanted to get into raiding. A friend somehow got me in one of the better raiding guilds on my server and -- guess what? -- shortly after, I got
Now I'm leveling a rogue and falling in love with a brand new skillset. Cheap Shot and Kidney Shot are fast becoming some of my new favorite character abilities. Are you more partial to the biggest damage/healing/threat increase button, or does pushing someone off an edge with Typhoon just make your day? What abilities do you enjoy the most?

Swift Flight Form. Instant mounting? Mounting in water? Collecting herbs while mounted? Mounting back up mid-fall? The longer I play my druid, the more I find to love about this ability.

Mind control + cliff = win

Swift Flight Form is the reason I have a hard time enjoying leveling other classes. Damn you Swift Flight Form. Why do you make me level 3 druids?
Jake Nov 13th 2010 1:23PM
There's several that are lots of fun.
Priest's new wings. I pop them every opportunity I get, even if only from smiting a spider.
Druid: Instant flight form. Love it, love it, love it.
But my favorite(s) are actually moves that, when combined with a costume, are just plain awesome.
Turn yourself into a furbolg
Now feign death, mirror image, and the shadow priests' new "ghostly dopplegangers" are all 100% more uber, and all work with Furbolg form.
Some of these work with ogre suits and other costumes. Experiment and have fun.

How many spells have single-handedly wiped entire Alliance raids on Thunder Bluff?
Just one.

Shamans!

Were there no pallies or mages there to slow fall and divine shild then Mage kick the crap out of the shamans, one out of combat pallyrez? Or Druids to flightform? Sounds unrealistic...

You can't Flight form in Thunder Bluff (yet), and Bubble/Levatate/Slow Fall don't stop you from being knocked off a cliff. And if it kills everything else but Pallies, Mages, and Priests, that's usually a wipe as far as capital raids are concerned.
Besides, even if the entire raid consisted of Pallies, Mages, and Priests, a lockdown is as good as a wipe. Ride up elevator, get Thunderstormed off, survive the fall, repeat until people get bored.

Shadowstep. 'nuff said.
HeroJéz Nov 13th 2010 8:38AM
Remarkable. Shadowstep is by far my favourite ability too. I even find that - to my detriment - I use it when I don't need to just because it's ace. I use it on the Grand Master Training dummy in Stormwind to get to the poison guy quicker. I use it on the Dalaran Squirrel at Eventide who gives me a boost from Marcia to the Inn, or from handing in my Mushroom Infused Meatloaf to the bank. Also, the amount of time it's saved me in EotS from pesky Shamans and Boomdoomkins and allowed me to skip to the top of an AV tower - bypassing the players battling at the entrance- is just immeasurable.
Great ability.
Incidentally, it's amazing how (as of writing) no-one have voted up any of the front page comments. I guess it's a testament to Blizzard making sure each class is fun in its own right and that players of said class have a fun button to press that they look forward to.
I'm certainly no fan-boy, but that's just excellent.

I second that. Nothing is quite as awesome as Shadowstep. The second I learned the ability on my Rogue, I fell in love with the class all over again. I leveled up as Subtlety until level 80, and even then, was reluctant to give it up. I still use it in PvP though. :)
Tadiermot Nov 13th 2010 10:53AM
I have to completely agree with this. There is nothing funnier than Shadowstepping from the flag room floor, in the low level brackets of WSG, up to the roof behind a careless clothie and one-shot ambushing them.
tornax Nov 14th 2010 8:29AM
... or shadowstepping turres at Strand of the Ancients to bypass gate and quickly capture graveyard just second after your team knock down the gate :)
phfantunes Nov 13th 2010 8:06AM
I switched from my pally tank the first time I charged a mob (and because pally tanking is just too easy). When I got Warbringer and charged a mob, intercepted another and Intervene'd a partner I knew I made the right decision.
Can't wait for Heroic Leap.
MrJackSauce Nov 13th 2010 8:22AM
THIS!! Charge/Warbringer is so damned awesome in so many ways.
Kadin1399 Nov 13th 2010 8:44AM
Definitely one of the best moves ever. I remember my first time through Outlands, and accidentally finding out about Charge Landing. Right in that moment, Warriors became my favorite class. Hands down.
Goins2754 Nov 13th 2010 12:23PM
And you've been crying ever since WotLK when Paladins became the uber tank and can do everything twice as good as a warrior for half the skill.
Also, you can't kill Paladins in PvP because "we'z mitigatin' all your damage, yo" and we self heal.
Just trollin' ya, bro. You probably shouldn't even respond to this. :)
Natlove Nov 13th 2010 12:42PM
Wow that guys cool
StClair Nov 15th 2010 12:54PM
Dismount in mid-air over your target and wait for the Charge button to light up...
Death from Above!
