The Queue: Michael Sacco Jr., you owe me

As I write this, it's 3:15 a.m. here in Wisconsin. About 30 minutes ago, I was comfortably in bed, drifting off to sleep. Then I heard a familiar sound coming from my iPhone -- someone was sending me instant messages over AIM! You see, I keep AIM logged in on my phone just in case the staff needs me in a hurry, especially on weekends. So I rolled over and groped blindly for my phone. What happened? Did WoW Insider burn down while I wasn't looking? Did we get news of another domain change? Did someone put a hilarious .GIF in our virtual war room?
It was Michael Sacco. "Hey Alex, can you write The Queue for me tomorrow?"
"I'm in bed, Mike. I am literally in bed. Right now. Sleeping."
"Yeah. OK. Can you write it?"
So here I am. Writing The Queue. Because that's what friends do.

What will be the best way to grind worgen/goblin rep?
There are tabards you can wear in instances to accrue reputation with those factions, similar to the level 80 tabards for factions such as the Argent Crusade and the Ebon Blade
Edit: There were no reputation tabards at level 70. Sorry!
Scott asked:
How do you turn off the sound that the launcher makes? When I'm half asleep in the morning that thing scares the crap out of me.
Sadly, you push your mute button until Blizzard patches again. The fact that The Volume Is Too Damn High is a bug.
phoenixxx73 asked:

No.
Abtan asked:
I know you have a WoW Insider meetup every year at BlizzCon, but will you ever do one somewhere else in the world? East coast, maybe? Cataclysm midnight release?
I'll split this question in half so I can answer each part sufficiently. First, we would love to have more meetups. The problem with them is that they're pretty expensive and we don't have money to just throw at meetups all year 'round. We would need to find sponsors to fund them. It's not impossible, but it's tough work. We have talked about it in the past and I actually brought it to the table again in our last editorial meeting, so we might look at it again. We can't make any promises, but it would be awesome.
I would love to have one in the midwest and one on the east coast at least. Chicago and New York? Boston? If Blizzard holds a Worldwide Invitational again at any point, maybe we'll have one overseas. WoW Insider in Paris or Seoul? It could happen.
As for midnight releases, we have no plans for official meetups that night. However, we will probably do what we've done in previous years and the staff members that don't mind people hunting them down in real life will list their midnight pickup location here on the site. If your location happens to match up, track them down and hand out some hugs, yo! I may arm staff members with TCG loot codes that night.

You're a good friend.
Once you find out why - spill the beans. That way it won't happen again.

Sacco was trying to dodge giving me Topanga's phone number. Sneaky, sneaky....

That is a reference to Metallica. I forgot what band it was that wrote that on a guitar... Pearl jam? When they cut their hair off for their upcoming album "load" and they came out at an acoustic session at mtv.

Alice in Chains on MTV Unplugged.

*Sigh*
I really wish that I lived up north. I love the cold, and being where I am, it doesn't get very cold often. Today, it was 77. It made me quite sad. I swear, as soon as I get the chance, I'm getting out of Florida.

IM's and phone calls late night when trying to sleep are never fun. o.o
Neither is waking up to it snowing in Northern Wisconsin. Its gonna look like Winterspring up here by the time the snow stops, I think...
Hiwa Nov 13th 2010 12:16PM
Please don't tell me the rain we're currently experiencing is going to turn to snow :(
I know, I know, I've lived here forever and I'm used to 6 months of winter, but I just hate to think of the first snowfall of the year.
Dravenheart Nov 13th 2010 12:22PM
I've not seen any rain where i'm at, but that could change. Under a Winter Storm Warning til noon central tomorrow.
Still a nice day to stay in, play some WoW, and watch hubby use his 450 cooking skill to make a feast for my dinner party tonight with another couple from my server. :D

Oh, I'm here in the UP of Michigan and it's snowing like crazy. Part of me is happy because I love snow, but there's a bigger part of me that keeps glancing out the window and sobbing like a baby. Now I'm going to have to start shoveling the driveway! I HATE shoveling the driveway! And since the roomies and I can't afford to fix whatever is wrong with the snowblower, we're going to have to do it by HAND.
So much hate for the weather right now...

I woke up this morning in Minneapolis to winter wonderland. :-P
Wolftech Nov 13th 2010 1:23PM
I wish it would snow here...no such luck though.
Wulf Nov 13th 2010 1:29PM
Apparently, we have more WI folks here than I thought.
Madison, here... ...and also hoping for a lack of that four-letter word.
Lived in AK, CO and WI... One would think that I'd finally come to terms with the stuff.
Amaxe Nov 13th 2010 2:01PM
Hmm I have relatives who near Menomene falls (I know I butchered the spelling) flying out to CA today. I hope the weather won't delay them
Phaelan Nov 13th 2010 2:07PM
I'm in Southwest MI right on the lake...no snow yet. wouldn't surprised to have it here soon.
Though I'm in MI, i'm an original Cheesehead (born in Madison, raised in Southern WI east of Janesville). I miss WI though...too many damn Lion's games and not enough Packer ones /cry
Draelan Nov 13th 2010 2:13PM
Ah, snow... How long has it been since I've seen it? Not since I went back home to MA to visit family last Christmas... I actually kind of miss it. It's always been one of those things where, if you have to go out in it, it's a pain in the ass. However, if you've got nowhere to go, there's nothing more relaxing that curling up in a blanket and just watching the snow fall...
Shrikesnest Nov 13th 2010 2:18PM
Bayport MN here, and we've got a few inches accumulation. Please, please be gone by Monday...
lazymangaka Nov 13th 2010 2:19PM
Hasn't started snowing here in southwestern South Dakota yet, much to my chagrin--I'm really jonesing for a snow day. :D
JoJa Nov 13th 2010 2:42PM
@ Phaelan. If you move to the UP, where Mimzy is, you don't have to worry about it. They all watch the Pack up there instead of the Lions.
bruce Nov 13th 2010 2:42PM
I am another one in Madison! Go Packers and Badgers!
