GREAT POST!
This is my favorite segment, since its extremely hard to RP nowadays.
I started about 3 years ago and I wish I started playing WOW when RP and RP-PVP servers actually had a majority of rpers. Nowadays, Blizz has given up on them, they expect us players to report every little thing, instead of having a GM just read the channels and permaban all the idiots and harrassers. In a time where thousands of players join rp servers to PURPOSELY ruin the fun of rpers, i'm just sickened.
Now, I know EVERY server, no matter the label, has a few hundred RPers and players that enjoy the gameworld and dont just rush and farm 24/7 - BUT I'm looking for a server that is actually friendly. One where there are people who rp, as well as everything else - with a low population of idiots, loudmouths, GS junkies and rushers.
So.. what is your favorite server to RP on? (or at least FEEL like a friendly community)
REMEMBER, 90% of players RP a bit without even realizing it. Using emotes, saying a sentence or two, moving the camera, walking, etc.. ALL COUNTS! So RP it up and welcome the Cataclysm!! S!

Try Farstriders (US - RP). We've found it welcoming to RPers. You'll see the usual BS in trade chat, but when me & my husband are RPing via /s, we're almost never trolled, and get quite a few laughs or good comments, and sometimes folks will join in. I've started up RP in General Chat in a few places, and while, yeah, there's been some "Huh?", there's also been folks who jump right in and play along.
Having an offbeat sense of humor helps, as well as keeping it light and fun in the public channels; I've found that folks tend to be more accepting of RP in public when it's fun and humorous. Anything serious, I keep off the public channels and with friends/Guild only.

I've found Wyrmrest Accord (US) to be a pretty good place to RP. Also, it seems to me that their trade chat is a pretty clear step up from the other servers I've played on. Full sentences and proper capitalization? In my Trade?

I play on multiple servers, and so far Wymrest is my favorite for RP. Although random RP is to be had, the guild RP is where we really shine. Not that I am biased at all (Pst, check out For Her Tallest, a guild for Goblins who hate Gallywix! But ya didn't hear it from me. >.>).
Now, with that said, if you like raiding and pvp and don't like to put an effort into finding raiding and pvp, well, wyrmrest ain't for you. At all. Trust me. I like raiding and I am working with my casual guild, and hope the get the goblin guild some raiding cred as well, but I know it will be a loooong uphill battle.
If you want random rp and raiding, moon guard is pretty solid. Just avoid Goldshire, though it has been cleaned up quite a bit.
