The Queue: Alexander Q. Ziebart, I owe you

What, he gets to use my full name but I can't use his? Thanks for covering for me yesterday, Alex. Red-eye flights suck.
Raful asked:
I don't know if this have been answered before, but will the honor and justice points that we get at level 80 be reset when we're at 85?
They won't reset, though the cap of 4,000 may be lifted when Cataclysm launches, since that's only like ... an item and a half, with badge gear prices at 85 in mind.
Cocoboom asked:
Which features can worgen change in the barbershop?
They can change hair style, ears/facial hair, and pelt color.
Scott asked:
I've noticed on my battlegroup that we have a lot new realms appearing in BGs as well as dungeons. Did Blizzard finally open up the cross-ream stuff to be larger then just our BGs? Or am I just seeing things?
Battleground and dungeon finder matchmaking is now region-wide instead of battlegroup-wide. You should have a much larger pool of available players to vote-kick from PUGs now.
jbg asked:
In addition to tabards for worgen and goblin rep, will we also be able to do cloth turn-ins like for old city reps?
All cloth turn-in NPCs have been removed from the game as of Cataclysm, so no.

I have moved my Wow folder from drive to drive and even from XP to Win7 without ever reinstalling. 50Gigs or so should be plenty for Cata. Wow folder is currently about 30Gigs at least on my computer.

Does the 'Recommended' button in the bottom-left corner of the Options > Video screen tailor itself to you? Can it detect your computer's capabilities and then recommend accordingly?
Drakkenfyre Nov 14th 2010 12:51PM
That's kind of the whole point of the "Recommended" button. Of course it's not perfect. Some games, for example, if it can't detect the drivers your card is using, will recommend the lowest setting possible, even if you have an extremely high-end card.
It also keeps you from setting things too high. People started complaining "I used to be able to crank my Shadows all the way to max, but now it won't let it go above good!". Well, that's because your hardware wouldn't support Ultra Shadows well, and by sticking it up so far, you were screwing yourself with your less than 10 FPS.
There were exceptions, with people who had capable hardware, but it still wasn't letting them. In those cases updating the drivers usually fixed it.
bloodfyr Nov 14th 2010 3:02PM
It's not 100% perfect. I continually sets my view distance to "Fair" and my Texture Resolution to low, though I can support both at High or Ultra with no loss of FPS. So yeah.
bloodfyr Nov 14th 2010 3:04PM
*It continually sets

I was actually thinking the opposite. I imagined it might be setting things too high for my rather old computer - just following a preset or something, as my fps remained painfully low.
Though I did suspect the answers to both these questions were probably 'yes', but Im not afraid to ask when Im unsure. :)

Does the new www.wow.com (NOT wowinsider) actually get more traffic than WoW Insider? The last 10 times I've tried to come here I went to that website by accident. I mean come on!
Drakkenfyre Nov 14th 2010 12:43PM
It's Aol trying to take advantage of people mistaking the address for the game site. "Oh, hey, we're going to get all these people going to this address, and thinking it's the game site. Let's take advantage of that by sticking another business up there! I bet we get tons!"
There are already sites like it, and It's going to fail. That dumbass "Coming soon" page has been there for three months. It looks like it failed before it even began. I noticed they removed the link to WoW Insider, then put it back up real quick like the next day. I guess they noticed traffic dropping immediately. Personally I don't understand why they wouldn't understand the amout of ill will towards them for changing the domain would probably end up hurting them in the end. Aol has never been known to make the best business decisions sometimes.
I bet one day they will simply revert the address back to the site.
Hangk Nov 14th 2010 2:07PM
I always assumed that a third party offered them $$MONEY$$ for the use of the domain and that it's that third party's get-rich-quick scheme that's currently dying on the vine rather than AOL's... but perhaps I'm overestimating AOL Corporate's intelligence here...

No Nesingwary in Cataclysm?
If not, Blizzard is ruining a trend! xD
Paul Nov 14th 2010 12:38PM
There was no Troll raid in Wrath either, another trend removed.
MechaKingGhidra Nov 14th 2010 5:47PM
Well, maybe Deathwing is the *new* Nesingwary? After all, he probably wiped out more wild life than that dang dwarf ever did.
And in a twisted turn of events, before he becomes raidable, he poses as a questgiver in his humanoid form. Our next trophies: red dragon heads!
Okay, I'll stop being silly now.
Vorenos Nov 15th 2010 6:13AM
@Paul
i agree completely. i was hoping for a troll raid the whole time... and nothin :(
Parchoogler Nov 14th 2010 12:35PM
I tried to think of something clever.... but it's just too hard.
I demand nerfs!
Drakkenfyre Nov 14th 2010 12:37PM
Why do I get the feeling that character has a guild name of "Harmless" ?
I wonder if you can get a city tabard, and go get rep in lower dungeons. (For the people who don't know, low-level dungeons now give rep.) So if I wanted to raise my rep with SW, for example, could I just get a SW tabard, and go grind out rep in Deadmines. Solo'ing that over and over could be a way to get quick rep.
But I have a feeling they thought of this, and you only get rep with dungeons your level.
Ice Nov 14th 2010 5:31PM
In beta I eguipped Goblin tabard, went to WC and guess what.
3 rep per mob. Thats right. Since the tabard has no restictions like Northend/Cata ones ("When in 85 dungeons") you get it from all dungeons.
Keep in mind that 3 rep might raise the bigger the dungeon level is, I forgot to eguip mine when I did heroic. Also there is still (in beta atleast) the restirctions where you can only ENTER(thats right: enter only, they dont care if you just went in and out) 5 dungeons in hour.
But it can change before or nerfed to appropriate level dungeons, I guess this could be just "to get people in beta exalted" which would be odd because you could just race change to goblin and keep their mounts when going back. It might live couple maintances or patches.
Drakkenfyre Nov 14th 2010 6:44PM
Nice, thanks for the info.
Do the tabards still have the buff on them? The "Representing (X) faction" ?
That always annoyed me. If you just want to wear the tabard because you want to wear it, you constantly see that buff.
Ghoti Nov 14th 2010 12:42PM
A question:
What dungeons are currently giving badges? Is it the whole "Daily" system of wrath until max level, where you can grind as many as you want?
And how much does one get per boss?
If 4000 is only for 1 item and a half, them I'm thinking it'll be around 100+ per boss.
Drakkenfyre Nov 14th 2010 12:46PM
Badges no longer exist. Points have taken over.
You don't get 100 per. You get far less. The point of having a 4000 cap, and the items costing so much, is to keep people from stockpiling points, and to make them work more towards the items.
The current random dungeon for the day awards 16 Justic Points for a normal dungeon, and 24 for a Heroic. If I remember correctly. Those are probably the amounts dropped by the bosses.
icepyro Nov 14th 2010 1:18PM
Cataclysm Heroic dungeon boss -- 75 Justice Points
Cataclysm daily normal dungeon -- 75 Justice Points
Cataclysm daily Heroic dungeon -- 75 Valor Points
Cataclysm 10-player raid boss -- 75 Valor Points
Cataclysm 25-player raid boss -- 105 Valor Points
