You got off easy. My first run-in with the fire boss ended with me (hunter) and a lock bringing the boss down from about 30% after everyone else died. My 2nd ended in a full wipe, the healer rezzed with sickness, and one DPS stayed dead while we killed the boss on the 2nd attempt.

It's funny that people still don't understand that fire on the ground hurts!
