On Silvermoon the Alliance ( which is a lot of the servers population) has taken down all elementals in SW and IF.Theres is a tank boasting about soloing one of the bosses already. While staying above 96% health at all times.Level 48 nelf hunter out.P.S I only died once.

I saw some people saying that this event isn't all that cool or some crap.
I am here to debunk those rumors. It had the exact intended effect: Trade Chat and all the people in Orgrimmar and TB (ok noone was in TB but whatever) were very confused and panicky, coupled with a vanilla raid's amount of people waiting at the front gates for the event to begin.
It was beyond awesome. Chaotic, extreme, awesome. Twisting Nether btw.
I'd be happy if they told us this was going to randomly happen during cataclysm until we down Deathwing.

I think it's great that you and others can get excited over this, some mobs spawning in set locations followed by level 80 updates to old bosses, but there are indeed a lot of people who are totally indifferent to it.

It's not "lol some mobs and some bosses" its the atmosphere of the whole thing. IMO to put it like that ignores an essential part of why I feel like this works well.

You're talking heavily scripted and easily won versus emergent gameplay, to a lot of people it doesn't matter how good the scripting of this event is, it's still scripted.
There will be no blockades of the Drag while a horde of zombie players tries to break through as the low levels flee behind the defending high levels, there will be no zombie raids on enemy cities, there will be nothing unexpected from the event.
You will kill elementals that spawn, you will reinforce the red arrows, you will free the spawned citizens, and you will kill new versions of old bosses.
That is all.
Now I have to say, I've done it in this atmosphere of excitement from people who actually find this fun and it helps a lot, their excitement rubs off on you, I did the entire thing and it was enjoyable.
I'd call it their second best launch event, even if the gap between second and first is tremendous.

Lol, I was there last night (same server!), utter utter carnage.
I won an Alterac Valley and respawned surrounded by the corpses of 30 Stone Elementals wondering what the hell was going on :D
Plus I liked the line of about 100 players in single file on Mammoths lined through the drag which occured before the AV too, took a few screenies :)

Oh dear it wasn't too long ago that wotlk was the worst thing that ever happened to wow but the real cataclysm will be the tsunami of nostalgic tears. Seriously its a good event my only problem was that there were so many players in sw everyone had mega lag :P Outland-eu.
