I think Best Buy is offering the Battle Chest of WoW for $9.99 black friday
Tysic Nov 15th 2010 5:28PM
yup they are :D I was just going to mention that too.

And that's how I started my relationship with WoW, it was pre-Wrath too so paying $10 for the most current content back then in WoW was a no brainer, even to just try it out. Only problem was I bought it on my way down to visit relatives so I couldn't play the game until a week later.. I think I studied the manual at LEAST once every day to keep me busy xD

Cool, anything that brings in new players is a good thing.
duckwarrior Nov 15th 2010 5:14PM
The Battle Chest is on sale almost always somewhere for $20....
Royal Nov 15th 2010 5:14PM
Last year didn't they have $5 vanillas and the combo for $20?
Wanting $5 wows for the rocket mount >.
Camo Nov 15th 2010 5:15PM
But I guess those are only US version?
Oh and the link is broken:

Probably mentioned by this time my comment goes up, but there are a bunch of extra http's in the link
frugality Nov 15th 2010 5:18PM
I was right...however, still sent the (fixed) link to a few fellow nerds I know out there I rarely see around! Here's hoping they bite and I get to introduce them to the World...of Warcraft.

I just want to know when I can pick up Wrath for less than 40 bucks.
Hih Nov 15th 2010 10:05PM
Sometime after Cata releases.
Aethosiv Nov 16th 2010 12:28AM
Look for it on sale. I picked it up for $20 just a few weeks ago.
GerardthePriest Nov 15th 2010 5:50PM
I'm still waiting for an accessibly-priced entry to the game for new players, period. The list prices rack up to, what? $20 for vanilla, $30 for BC, $40 for Wrath, and now $40 for Cata? "Dude you need to start playing WoW with us, it's a great game, and it's only $130 to get raiding." Right. Even with sales on the Battle Chest for $10 on Black Friday, it's still $90.
Litigate Nov 15th 2010 5:56PM
Why do you think multiple retailers are offering a cut-rate price on the battle chest or other similar package deals?
Because a new battle chest packaged with Wrath is sure to come along soon, leaving retailers in need of selling their old stock.
Zanthexter Nov 15th 2010 6:01PM
Well, it helps SOME that each game includes a free month.
But I do agree, Bobby Kotik is just sticking it to folks good charging for the base plus each expansion. Heck, it's a subscription game, making you pay and THEN subscribe is kinda ridiculous. Just wrap it all into the monthly fee and be done with it.
Rob Nov 15th 2010 7:35PM
Wait for it, mark my words, wraith will be included in the battle chest sometime next year.
Dan Nov 15th 2010 6:02PM
If you buy vanilla wow, then pre-order cataclysm through blizzard, you can get bc + wotlk + cataclysm for 20% off each. It wound up being 87.60 for all three for me.
ZeroDesu Nov 16th 2010 5:08AM
That's still really freakin' expensive, man...
Mark Nov 15th 2010 6:11PM
At this point it should be included by default, it's ridiculous to keep charging for old expansions.
aspiringhobo Nov 15th 2010 7:54PM
I absolutely agree. The price barrier was one of the reasons I took so long to get into WoW, and even then (this was last year) I had to languish at level 70 for several months before I could afford Wrath. I really hope they end up at least bundling Wrath into the battle chest, because having to pay full price for outdated content is just silly.
