It took me a few tries to get the title of this video correct. Summon U a Drank is the first episode of the new Yumfries series called Nub Tunes. Well, I don't know if it's going to be an ongoing series -- but that's how it's labeled, and I'm a huge Yumfries fan boy. I'm hoping if I say it's the first in a series, he'll be overwhelmed by my personality and do further songs.
Make sure to watch the video all the way through. If your experience is like mine, you'll be completely in love by the time you hit the guitar solo around the 2:40 mark. According to the credits, the video production was performed by Yumfries, while the audio product was executed by Wick. I don't know what mad inspiration struck these gentleman, but I'm loving it. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.
Is this song based on something or is it an original work? It doesn't sound familiar to me, so I'm hoping it's the latter. Machinima needs more original music.
i'm sorry, but it has to be said...i died a little inside to see mr. gray supporting more yumfries.
comparing anything yumfries happens to vomit out of his 13 year old brain to much of what's previously been showcased on moviewatch is like comparing a handcrafted belgian beer to natty light...or a thought provoking, soul satisfying novel to the most recent issue of People magazine...or Abasik Campfire to Garrosh. This list is endless really, but i hope i've sufficiently made my point.
Out of all the spiffs, crendors, craniuses, soosdons, gnomechewers, and even nyhms out there...why, oh why must we be tormented by more yumfries?
ps - for as much as i dislike his stuff...the guitar solo at 2:40 was pretty good...but that's all i'm giving!!
@Matt Unfortunately, most of the commenter's here like the childish and/or vulgar mind numbing videos. Pretty much what I think about Crendors work as well. In fact, I would go as far as to say they are no better than what these people here call, "BE RAP". However, there is always hope for tomorrow.
I mean, not to bash, but dude: 'vomited out of his 13 year old brain' is a leetle harsh. Not only is it harsh, but rather stupid. Maybe it's just me, but between the times me and my college friends are writing papers, discussing philosophy/religion/politics, watching the Daily Show and Discovery channel (me and my friends are geeks), we joke like he does.
Thinks don't have to be super intelligent all the time. Sometimes good, dumb humor is the best. It's nice to relax and just laugh for a change and NOT have to worry about the million and one subtexts or the reasoning behind it.
Yumfries stuff is well done, delivers on the punchlines, and I find it hilarious. I have yet to see a ep of Nub Tales that I dislike. And I loved this one. It was well delivered, clever, and the costumes were hilarious. And good for him for actually getting in front of the camera!

Oh, but even if it was a parody, it was very enjoyable and well done. Yumfries does good stuff.
brian Nov 15th 2010 12:19PM
It's based on T-Pain's Buy You A Drink.
More original stuff is good, but I don't mind parodies if they're done like this.
Luminarie Nov 15th 2010 12:20PM
It's a parody of Buy You a Drink from T-Pain a couple of years old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui86peQZ74s

Yeah...I finally noticed the title of the video itself, so I guess this should have been obvious.
Luminarie Nov 15th 2010 12:19PM
I laughed so hard I cried.

I love Yumfries, but this just didn't do it for me. Thank God there were subtitles cause I couldn't understand 98% of what they said.
And it felt like they were trying really hard to be like the Gregory Brothers and their auto-tune collection, green screen at the end included.

meh.

Rockhorn would like a word with you. Outside of Greyfoo and Rad Bear, Yumfries has the best stuff out there.

agree to disagree, friend.

Yeah, Yumfries' stuff (Nub tales in particular) is sooo stupid.
But DAMN I love it xD
Stupid in a way you just can't help but laugh :)

Someone else said it well "just didn't do it for me". Same here. Well done technically, content-wise... not my thing.
Trilynne Nov 15th 2010 12:59PM
indeed... not sure if I was missing the joke, but I didn't find it that entertaining. :/
G01851 Nov 15th 2010 1:28PM
same here... I'd like my 3 minutes back plz.
Craig Nov 15th 2010 2:35PM
Yeah. I didn't like it either, but my issue stems more from my dislike for the style of original music than what he did with it.
I have no doubt that if I enjoyed the original song, I would have liked it more. Auto-tune is played out
