Just as point of clarification, the Vial of the Sandstone drake isn't an alchemist perk, at least not any more than the Chopper/Mechano-Hog was an Engineer perk. It's crafted by an alchemist, but only requires basic flying (225 skill) to use.The vendor mats alone appear to go for 24,000 gold though, not to mention the multiple flasks, truegold and potions you need to combine to make one, so I don't want to think what the first few will go for on my realm.

The vial is BoP though so as soon as an alchemist makes one, it becomes soulbound to him.

If you look at the tooltip, it says BoPThat's the debate going around the internet right now, will this stay BoP and thus be an alchemist only perk (as this article states) or will it get changed to a BoE option for choppah 2.0Either option though, no way I'd be able to afford it : /

The vial that teaches you the mount is actually Bind on Pickup so it is an alchemy only perk. The mechano-hog isn't bind on pickup (even though the recipe is).

Interesting that it's BoP but doesn't require Alchemy to use it. The other BoP profession-made mounts (the carpets and flying machines) require their respective professions to use. So technically, if you were crazy enough to do it, you could get the mount then drop Alchemy and still use it.
