A catastrophe is coming Kezan, and it will force hundreds of goblins to find shelter and solace in foreign lands. And while this could be misery, the wise and profit-minded goblin will take advantage of Azeroth's wonderful grub and rife opportunity -- or at least, that's the premise of Gree D2 by Olibith, with voice actor Jesse Cox. Olibith issues some special thanks to his friend Sharon Davidson.
Gree D2 is one hell of an impressive machinima. For all that it's short, Olibith packed some amazing graphics in a very brief time. The script was hilarious and fantastically executed by Cox. My hat's off to the gentlemen. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.
uncaringbear said he was glad this one didn't have a minute's worth of credits.
I was saying that had gotten on my nerves, when you see a video with credits longer than the actual video.
I wasn't commenting on this video itself, I was commenting on the crap videos. There was a Gigi video awhile back that took 1:50 before it even got to the video.
I am so glad to see this one featured. Of the videos up on the Darkmoon Fair site, this one stands out. It's well done on all fronts: voice, tech and story. :) I hope to see a lot more videos come out of the contest but right now - this one is a clear winnah!
I know that not all of the artists have had access to the new models. Still, it's nice to see a goblin add for cata. ;)
Yeah, this definitely stands out from the others. It has a real professional polish that makes it seem like something you could actually see in the game. If this does not get any recognition for the contest I will eat my hat. I don't own a hat, but I will still eat it.
I think there should be categories, so the "pros" won't interfere with regular players. How can Joe Blow from Idaho compete when you know the winners will be all the usual suspects like always?
You make a good point there. Interesting.. could we make a venue for TRUE new artists who don't need to compete w/ the gang who have been doing it fora a while? Mind you, moments of brilliance tend to shine out from the other limitations.
LOL... I'm a bit torn by the idea to be honest. :)
Despite what some people think about Canadians... I do believe that competition can be good. That being said, we get some videos on here that are clearly first-tries and... It's pretty humiliating. Honestly, I'm not sure what the answer is here.
Yeah, but that was four years ago - the WoW machinima scene was in its infancy. Everyone sucked.
The Olympics used to have Fencing events and Fencing for Masters. I think that is an excellent idea that should be used more often.
There's no shame in winning a beginner's bracket, but there's shame in your best efforts being curbstomped by people with top-of-the line software and four years' experience. All it does is discourage newcomers.

Illegal Danish? Learn 2 Play? Epic Flight Form? Azerothian Super Villains? That's the World of Warcraft that you Play? Snacky's Journal? ROFLMAO? Inventing Swear Words? The Grind? Are you sure everyone sucked?

That was awesome! I loved that they simply jumped straight into the action without the typical one minute+ title introduction/credits.
Drakkenfyre Nov 20th 2010 9:21PM
That one has gotten on my nerves.
"Crappy pictures presents"
"A my name film"
"Presented by crap goes here"
"Sponsored by stupidgamesite"
"A production of inmysparetime"
"Proudly presents a short"
"My crappy machinima"
"Starring mynamehere"
"Also starring my cat"
"Copyright dategoeshere"
"In conjunction with myfriend"
A 45 second clip, for 3 minutes worth of credits.
If your film sucks, adding credits that are longer than the film itself isn't going to make it better. It's just going to piss people off.

Uhm... Drakk... I've had good interactions with you in the past so I'm sad to see this post. I hope that there is a rational explanation. :D

I think it was just a parody of way-too-long beginning credits in shorts.

Dreyja, what?

Ugh... Sorry Drakk - It was a dumb post of mine at a really dumb time to be posting. I mis-read the entire situation. Long. Dumb. Day...
Mia culpa. Very sorry. Derp Mc Derpie-derp. I love it when I make an ass of myself.

"A catastrophe is coming Kezan"?
I think you accidentally the article.

You had me at "with voice actor Jesse Cox"
That man made my summer bearable with his witty commentary on the Cata Beta

You should watch Olibith's first machinimas and see that he was technically pretty close to Joe Blow from Idaho 4 years ago.

Hey! Here's one of the machinima fanboys I was thinking of when I made my initial post.

is it just me or does his hand look like a horse's butt?
