Around Azeroth: The horror, the horror
This picture from Frodrik of <The White Sigil> on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A) proves three things. First, the elemental invasion is way cooler when combined with an invasion from the opposite faction. Second, the Worried Citizens of Stormwind respawn at an ungodly fast rate. And third, all those years of killing Gamon have completely desensitized the Horde to the slaughter of innocent civilians.

Props for WA and the Young Frankenstein reference for the submitter...and a serious "but...damn!" for what they did here! This is just...wow. Or WoW. Or something.
/salute

I believe it is a Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad) allusion. Unless we are talking about different things.
JungleEmber Nov 22nd 2010 10:44AM
Think he might be referring to Dr. Frederick Frankenstein from Young Frankenstein as the submitters name is Frodrick or something, unless he IS referring to the title in which case /facepalm

Ahh -- My Mistake!
Carry on!

I was definitely talking about the submitter's name, rather than the title, as coming from Young Frankenstein. Thanks for the YouTube link, Cutaia!

*salute to my fellow Accordians*
The raid was glorious!

Subby here!
I also roll as Frodrick on Argent Dawn. The character name is indeed a 'Young Fraunkehnsteen' reference as it happens to be one of my favorite movies, ever.
It warms my heart when I get whispers along the lines of 'Roll in ze hay!' 'Igor? it's Eyegor!' 'hump? what hump?' 'abby normal' and so on. That movie deserves recognition!
And props to my fellows at Wyrmrest - we were conducting triage RP at the time in the keep and as far as interruptions go - this one was hilarious and far preferable to death knights hovering in front of Wrynn getting bathed in rotten fruit. I must credit a guildmate, Strahm, with the line:
"It's like someone chewed up fruity pebbles and spewed it all over the floor!"

Awesome Pic, "The horror, the horror" title fits it perfectly.

All I could think of is, wow think of all the dishonorable kills that would have been back in the day lol.

Gamon is not an innocent civilian! If it weren't for the efforts of every member of the Horde he would rival the Burning Legion in power!
Saeadame Nov 22nd 2010 10:14AM
Yes! Just look - despite our best efforts he appears to have gained power when the end of the world came! Evidence that he must be a truly evil being.
Saeadame Nov 22nd 2010 10:12AM
Truefax on Gamon. Why, just yesterday I happened upon hi in the inn - unaccosted! The horror! Certainly, I felt it my duty to slay him where he stood.
If only to get it in before he becomes a 85 elite truck of a tauren.

I have been attempting to kite him to safety, alas, I can never get him very far.
Did get him to Razor Hill once, only for him to be slaughtered by a passerby that insisted that a man should never hit a woman, and thusly, he deserved it.

Remember how there was a meeting of all the alliance leaders in SW a few weeks back?
(I'm not sure if they're still there)
Well, lets just say I got to witness the Horde get absolutely destroyed trying to face 5 faction leaders at once. It was glorious.
Chetti Nov 22nd 2010 11:06AM
Although I didn't get to witness one of those attempts, I did get to read about it in general/trade chat one night. It seemed I'd just missed it. I don't generally do pvp, but if I happen to be in SW and the king is being attacked, I will go help defend.. or heal our defenders. This is something I would have just watched though, I'd imagine the invaders got beat down somethin terrible. :)
What was strange though is that it had been a while since the meeting of the leaders had started, and I decided to go in and have a listen while I was leveling an alt when the thought/question popped into my head about the For The Horde. I had wondered if some (extremely large) Horde group came through and managed to kill all the faction leaders in the one room in the keep, would they get their achievement. Now, I didn't necessarily think it'd be easy - or even possible- to successfully kill them all while they were in the same room. But if they managed to do it, would it count. I asked this of General chat in SW, and got the response that no it wouldn't count, although if a group succeeded they would deserve something.. and this launched into 2 stories, one of a person who was playing a horde alt that went with a group to attempt it (to see if it'd work).. and the other of a few people who defended/watched a group attempt not to long before I'd asked.

@Chetti
I believe it would not count. The faction leaders in Stormwind Keep would technically be a different NPC than the one in their capitals (just like Varian in ICC or Velen in SWP are different NPCs). The achievement should be just for the very specific iterations of the racial leaders that reside in their capitals.
Apa Nov 22nd 2010 5:15PM
No, killing the 5 faction leaders all in the Stormwind Keep did not count. I lead a successful raid of my guildmates on the hapless human king but the other leaders there were not fully realized npcs, sadly. (They did not have their normal abilities.) They, too, respawned ungodly fast when killed but our folks in the raid who still needed For The Horde only got credit for the King.
Saikoujin Nov 22nd 2010 10:58AM
I witnessed this very same spectacle when the Cata event quests had just begun on my realm (Eonar). The Horde came, were unsuccessful in their attempt, but left a wake of civilian carnage in the halls of Stormwind Castle. Was about to capture the scene as well, but as the submitter writes, the bodies despawn very fast. Was an awesome sight to see.

"Second, the Worried Citizens of Stormwind _respawn_ at an ungodly fast rate."
