Patch 4.0.3a, The Shattering, likely hitting live servers tomorrow

The Shattering patch will include all the old-world changes coming with Cataclysm, including changes to the Loremaster and Explorer achievements to match, the removal of Zul'Gurub, a reduction in the amount of experience required to level from 70 to 80, and the addition of all of the new race/class combinations. Worgen and goblins will still have to wait for Cataclysm itself, of course. If you don't plan to do any raiding or dailies in Northrend in the next couple weeks on any of your characters, you may also want to move your character to Stormwind or Orgrimmar before the servers go down, as rumor has it that the portals in Dalaran are going away with this patch.

You know what sucks, they changed the raptor boss to suddenly have a monster attack (Guillotine) which hits from 5 to 6k up to 12k or so after his little raptor buddy debuffs your armor a bit. The change is new with 4.0.1... Seems kind of silly that they'd buff him to prevent farming just for the few weeks before 4.0.3a dropped and ZG disappeared. I used to be able to solo him easily, now he destroys me before I can get him down below about 1/3 health =(

Yea, I was really hoping for the Shattering next week - giving us 2 more attempts this week... /sigh I have the raptor mount on two toons, but alas, the tiger has eluded me.
Besides the loss of ZG, I've checked out the PTR..... And people are in for a rude awakening when it comes to the loss of the Dalaran portals. This won't be entirely awful come Cataclysm when we actually have a reason to be in old Azeroth, but for the next two weeks while Dalaran is still the primary hub, travel is gonna suck. Get ready to stare at those hearth cooldowns!

I solo'ed the raptor boss last night on my mage. As fire spec. (As in, with very little in terms of defensive cooldowns.)
Should still be able to solo him if you can either heal yourself or if you're wearing plate.

Yep, I've already moved all my chars to Stormwind/Orgrimmar, except for 1... My mage. Portals for 10g apiece! =)

Aren't they putting AHes and class trainers in Dala? You won't need to leave.

Class Trainers yes, but I don't think they are putting an AH in. I wish they would put an AH in both Dal and Shatt for those levelling 60 to 80 as there is no reason not to at this point.

I was lucky enough to get 2 Zulian Tigers on my Hunter and Pally in the same week. This was about a month ago. I have armories to prove it. Haven't seen a mount since though.

Actually, on the PTR, there is an AH for everyone to use in Dal. On horde side, there is a "Steam-Powered Auctioneer" In the room with the emblem vendors that I was able to use without the engineering profession. I'm assuming there is one on Ally side too. This could be a PTR only thing, but I doubt it.

Now to pick a new race/class combo to level. Haven't done a lock or Mage and there's some new races that can be those....troll Druid sounds fun butI got 2 already....and I made a gnome priest on the ptr and the new area is pretty fun...so idk

I have 3 80 druids, I think that actually makes me retarded.
Moomoocita (Horde PvE), Feral/Resto Eldre'Thalas
Shalora (Alliance PvP), Lazerchicken/Resto Bloodscalp
Khakhi (Horde RPPVP), iirc Feral/Resto Ravenholdt

Only two? Druids are four of the best classes in the game!
Of course, with dual spec on two, you can pretty much cover it all, although personally I like to use my secondary spec as a more PvP focused version of my primary spec.
