I'll miss you, old Azeroth...
R.I.P 2004-2010

I saw this on the General Forums last night, and thought it appropriate:
"A moment of silence, for our dearly departed youth. While we may sometimes look upon it with fond nostalgia, and other times with jaded malice, Azeroth was the beginning for many of us.
In our youth, Azeroth was all that there was, and so we ignored the minor (or major) inconveniences, safe in the knowledge that all was working as intended(â„¢).
Whatever your feelings about this old world, remember what it used to mean, if you were there. Things have changed, expansions, talents, levels have all come and gone, and (possibly) tomorrow, that all changes.
Farewell, Azeroth! I knew thee well, and you will be missed."

Azeroth is dead! Long live Azeroth!

One part was missed.........the sky of old Azeroth.
I will remember it as I first saw it: http://i.imgur.com/GWhst.jpg
Here's hoping Blizzard re-considers adding Blue Child back.

I was sitting in the Filthy Animal last night getting drunk and listening to REM, but just before shutdown I went and said goodbye to a bunch of places, taking screenshots while listening to Turn Back Time. Got me all teary.
RIP Old Azeroth.

Thank you WoW Insider. Thank you.

For all the crap I give the old world (leveling in it was never exciting) there was always a certain charm to it that I guess I never noticed until I heard it was going away.
Guess it's true. You don't know what you have until it's gone. You're gonna be missed old world Azeroth. You will be missed.

Along with about 30% of Alliance territories.
MightyMuffin Nov 23rd 2010 1:07PM
@ Natsumi
Means less running around for Alliance to get quests then. Blizzard wouldn't take 30% away and not give us a way to get to level 60 then. So maybe we lost 30% lore-wise, but that just means 30% more for the Alliance to re-take when we push into Horde lands.
For the Alliance!

If only the gallery system here at WoWInsider was not so flippin' bad... Nice effort, all, to capture some of these now-past Azerothian places.
Arturis Nov 23rd 2010 12:56PM
You think its bad to view, you've never had to *post* to it. Hats off to whoever fought with the blogging engine long enough to get all these pictures up. Your endurance is legendary.

I did my own little screenshot tour before the world shattered, but I definitely didn't get every zone. Thanks for posting this.
Ullaana Nov 23rd 2010 12:47PM
Did I miss the Darnassus Gallery?
Ullaana Nov 23rd 2010 12:51PM
And Teldrassil is a zone, not a Capital City.
Prances in Underpantss Nov 23rd 2010 12:53PM
Looks like they just put all of Teldrassil under the Capital Cities category.
