The Queue: Where am I going to wake up today?

This Queue is going to deal, in part, with questions many people have asked over the last few months, some that we haven't always had answers for. But we do have an answer for this first question, thanks to a few Blizzard statements this week.
So many people have asked:
Where am I going to wake up today?
Recently, Blizzard has come out a few times and said that you'll appear at the graveyard nearest to the location where you logged out. So if you logged out in Stormwind, like yours truly did, then you'll show up in the Elwynn Forest graveyard to the south of the Stormwind gates.
So many people have asked:
How much time has passed between Wrath and The Shattering?
As best we can reckon, it's a few years, given Anduin's aging. We should have a Know Your Lore or another one-off piece explaining this. And yes, this means a few years have passed since your character went to sleep last night.
Nethaera said today, "Months into the future? Not quite." I really don't know how to read that -- either as more than a few months, which makes a ton of sense, or less than a few months, which makes no sense. After all, Anduin went from a boy to a teenager -- that happens in a few years' time.
So many people have asked:
Is there going to be another big patch to download on Dec. 7 when Cataclysm is finally released?
There will likely not be another big patch. It's entirely possible -- indeed, likely -- that there will be one or two minor patches between now and then, but the data for Cataclysm's new zones and stuff is already here. The endgame stuff just isn't accessible yet.
So many people have asked:
My friend said that you can fly in Azeroth starting today! ZOMG!
Your friend is wrong. There is so much confusion over what is and isn't in this patch that it's best either to read a detailed list of what's available in the The Shattering and what you have to wait for until Dec. 7. Read the list we published earlier today!

Wasn't this question answered in a previous queue? I thought the answer was "they scrapped it a long time ago"

Asking a question over and over again when it has already been answered will not change the answer to what you want to hear.

It has indeed been removed, but I don't think it was a "joke." It was in the initial paladin class preview released by Blizzard, but they've since changed it to Inquisition and simply added Elementals and Dragonkin to the Holy Wrath stun via glyph.

Anduin didn't age overnight, he's technically been that age for awhile, but simply didn't have the model.
They even joked about this, by having him say "I feel like I've been 11 for years." when you talked to him at one point.
The last official thing pointed to it being a few months after Wrath of the Lich King.
I think Neth's answer means it's "not a few months", less than a few months.
As people are oft to do, they say The Shattering answers alot of things. I haven't read it, but I believe he's older than 11 in the book. So if he's older than 11 there, it couldn't have been "years" since the end of Wrath of the Lich King.

Exactly. He was 11 at the start of Wrath, and he's now 13. It's terrible of Blizz to not make it more available, but it's explained pretty well in the Shattering book. There is no real time jump at all. The Lich King according to the timeline, was killed several months ago (about the time he was first downed in game). Org is burned at the start of the Elemental invasions, and rebuilt super fast, thanks to Goblin workforces. In the past few months, Magni would have already been turned to stone and Ironforge seiged by his daughter and then broken free, Cairne already dead and Thunder Bluff seiged my the Grimtotems and freed. Malfurions been back for awhile, Ahsenvales been under assault. It's just none of this has been shown in game. But it's back to back. There technically won't even be a time jump from yesterday to today except the one day. Suspension of disbelief I suppose.

Shame about the graveyard thing. I had a friend(since I'm not subbed currently) log out in some weird places, like the bridge to Darkwhisper Gorge in Winterspring, and the spot roughly where that whirlpool will be in the 2 STVs. Now he'll just be in some graveyard in Winterspring and STV.
Pyromelter Nov 23rd 2010 3:30PM
I logged my guys out all over the place. Put my warrior right where the lava flows will be in the barrens (after he /saluted mankrik's wife one last time).
Mage was trying to get to stormwind park, but didn't make it. He was last seen on a wind rider in STV...

Question for the Queue:
Has Blizzard every thought about joining the Battleground ques up into
different types of objectives, for example, a single que under the
name of Capture the Flag for the Battlegrounds, Warsong Gulch and Twin Peaks, so by signing up for that que you would be able to get Warsong Gulch or Twin Peaks instead of just having to sign up for single battlegrounds.
Thanks

Great question! But, I don't think it would work until max level, given that BGs are tuned to 'opening' at various levels (i.e. AB doesnt open until level...30? AV is level 40ish and EOTS is 60 or 70 iirc).
So while this might work well at max level it would look very bare bones as you level.
t0xic Nov 23rd 2010 2:12PM
Perhaps if they made this change they could also change the random heroic queue with options like "no dungeons with vehicle combat", "easy mode tanking - no dungeons with spawning adds", "hard mode tanking - all 3 dps are rogues with no tricks of the trade", etc.
I'm sure people could come up with others...
Pyromelter Nov 23rd 2010 3:32PM
Last I checked, you can queue for 2 bg's at a time. So you can queue for Gilneas/WSG already. (Can't queue for a random and a specific bg though.)
Kenmoe Nov 23rd 2010 3:42PM
At max level (or maybe lower, like 70 or 80) I'd like to be able to queue for specific BGs like you can for regular/heroic instances.
Task Nov 23rd 2010 1:07PM
You aren't, you are 4th.
Good day.
Tim gibson Nov 23rd 2010 4:44PM
Damn I new there was something i was forgetting to do last night. I was meaning to do a few mount runs of Stratholme.
Rictus Nov 23rd 2010 5:08PM
Well, you can still do mount runs after the Shattering. The Baron may be gone, but his successor also rides...
Mogura Nov 23rd 2010 1:08PM
The new loading screen has me all a twitter...seriously considering calling in sick to work this afternoon. But, I'll be satisfied if I can laugh at all the miserable souls who threaten to cancel their membership because they can't log in at 11am on patch day.
My favorite part of patch day, hand's down.
clundgren Nov 23rd 2010 2:58PM

Task Nov 23rd 2010 1:08PM
Correction you are 5th not 4th.
Sinnh Nov 23rd 2010 1:09PM
Is it at all possible blizzard would ever release vanilla wow pre-cataclysm as a standalone product (no online mode) or is that just plain crazy?
