That's because people were saying you could RUN the game on the iPad. You can't. The iPad has nowhere near the processing capabilities to run the game, let alone the storage space for it.
This is a remote application. It gives you a video feed, and lets you send commands to an actual system running the game. Under this same kind of system you can run console games without even having a console.
Google "OnLive", it's exactly the same. Unless you somehow think they can squeeze a huge gaming pc into a 4 inch by 6 inch box.

Actually it does have more than enough storage space, just not the processor/graphics power. Although Rage HD has proven that an FPS can run smoothly on an iPad.
