Well, I think that's the point. Blizzard is fond of taking gold out of players' hands, but not so keen to put it in other players' hands. I have a feeling that portals in Dalaran and Shattrath *may* come back, simply because there's no in-game competition now. Almost every other profession has some kind of in-game alternative - armor, weapons, potions, and gems can be crafted, but that's not the only way to get those items (vendors, drops, quest rewards, etc.) Even enchanting has competition from vendored head-slot enchants. By removing free mass-transit, they've effectively created a market for it. It will be interesting to see how it will play out. Basil ~ isn't this the point where we would talk about the opportunity cost of leveling a mage, and the potential profit of of a new market with no in-game competition? Necromann, sorry you spent so much gold to level a different profession, but at least next time it won't be so bad?
