"So your lowbie hunter will not be hitting nearly as hard -- but neither will any other low-level DPS classes." Poor mages.. frost, forever stuck as the leveling spec. :P

That line is a bold-faced lie. Hunters have got to be one of the hardest hitting classes at low levels. It's plain to see how easy hunters have it compared to the classes when you're leveling. My level 7 hunter could drop any pair of level 9 mobs in Tirisfal in about 5-6 seconds. My level 7 paladin? May the Light have mercy on him if so much as a level 7 murloc and a stiff breeze engage him in battle.

I don't know if they changed things from the Beta, but I leveled primarily in Arcane and was highly successful, especially after getting 'Slow.'

@Avan, either you didn't understand what "that line" was saying, or you have no idea what a bold-faced lie is.

@Ronin:Well, it looks like it's saying that everyone at low levels doesn't hit hard, which is a lie. Hunters are one of the classes better off for dealing damage at low levels. Pet? Check. Ranged attack? Check. Instant specials without cooldowns? Check. Compare that to a paladin: No pet, no ranged attack, and both specials have lengthy cooldowns. I kid you not, Crusader Strike will come off of cooldown two, maybe three times, before a level 7 paladin kills a mob. In that amount of time, a level 7 hunter will have killed 4 mobs.

@Avan: You need to work on your reading comprehension. It says nothing of the sort. It does say they aren't hitting as hard as they were. This is the simple truth. It makes no claim along the lines of "doesn't hit hard". Not sure where you're getting that. If I say Abe Lincoln was not as tall as the Eiffel Tower, I am *not* saying Abe Lincoln wasn't tall. "Not as tall" does not mean "not tall", and "not as hard" does not mean "not hard".

That's not all Avan has to work on. "Lie" implies intent. Even if Avan was right (he's not), and what Frost said wasn't true, it wouldn't be a "lie" unless Frost was trying to mislead us.

In the off chance you meant Frost mages, it's worth pointing out that they sim the highest of any mage spec at level 85... a little bit better than fire with both clearly stronger than arcane. Fire probably will cleave better, frost will probably burst better and will definitely have more endurance than fire.http://www.magegraf.com/
