WRUP: My god, it's full of alts

As most of our regular readers have already noticed, the USA's Thanksgiving has slowed WoW Insider down significantly. Many members of our staff are off in strange, unknown locations with friends and family. Some of them don't even have access to the magical portal we know as the internet. Can you imagine that? Tough, I know.
Those of us still here have had our interest in WoW renewed thanks to the world changes introduced in patch 4.0.3a. In addition to asking the staff what they're up to this weekend for this week's WRUP, they were asked to include a screenshot of any of the new race/class combos they might be playing. I encourage you to do the same, dear readers!
Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart): For a while there, WoW ended up pretty low on my list of leisure activities. The live realms had just stagnated so much over the last few months that I didn't want to log in at all. The Shattering changed that, thankfully! I'll be spending my time leveling a dwarven enhancement shaman. She's pretty cool so far, and I don't even like dwarves.
Chase Christian (@madsushi): Eating a lot and going to finish building my new dream PC this weekend. Here's a picture of my new tauren paladin!
Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): I'm using the extra long holiday weekend to catch up on a lot of personal writing. Also, since I didn't quite finish Loremaster of Kalimdor before the patch, I'm using my pre-Cataclysm time to get a head start on it again, and I have to say, Darkshore is just plain depressing. The Alliance just can't catch a break this expansion, can they? Also, here is a picture of Telana, my gnome priestess. She's low level, but she survived years in Gnomeregan dodging leper gnomes and troggs without succumbing to radiation sickness, so she's still a huge badass.
Dan O'Halloran: Recovering from the flu. Which gives me lots of time for my new dwarf shaman.
Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): Like a faithless hound dog, I return slinking to the legs of my master, World of Warcraft. I rolled a troll druid and am having great fun with all the quests, enough so that I think I'm just going to keep to Kalimdor on this character and save the Eastern Kingdoms for my goblin hunter. Here is my newbie, Melphomene of Medivh.
Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): World of Warcraft is back to dominating my play time for two reasons. First, I'm absolutely in love with my prot paladin. Seriously, I love tanking on her. I've been chain running dungeons left and right and just having a blast. Second reason, I am going through and doing all the lower-level quests on Lodur. Even now, all the new quests are just so much fun, and I find myself enjoying them quite a bit. Also, Lodur is hitting the battlegrounds still. Nothing says "I love you" like a dwarf shaman clad in full PvP gear with a legendary mace riding a raptor at the middle of a huge pack of Alliance! Have I mentioned I love being a dwarf shaman?
Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): I've fallen in love all over again with The Shattering! I'm going to roll a tauren pally, but my server is full of them, so I'm waiting a few days to roll her. The first thing I did after logging on was rush to Thunder Bluff. I choked up a bit seeing Baine there, but Cadi has sworn loyalty to her new chief.
Lisa Poisso (@emused): I hope I'll be enjoying some time to play with my husband, but he's having some sort of OS conflict problem, so our duo might be sidelined after all. So maybe I'll get to ... raise my fishing?
Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Lots of writing, Shattering stuff, working out some video streaming stuff for some live stuff, and probably building an Ikea bookshelf. Also, more Dance Central. Always Dance Central. I made an undead hunter and I'm having a blast with the class and the leveling.
Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): I'll be playing alts all weekend long. Meet Robinemic, the Forsaken huntress.
Tyler Caraway (murmursofadruid): I'll be snagging what play time I can as I prepare to deal with the after-Thanksgiving rush at work. Thankfully, I only work in grocery and not retail, or I wouldn't be able to survive the holiday season. Aside from that, it's trying to score another H LK kill on Sunday and pushing my mage those last few levels to 80.
Zach Yonzon (@battlemasters): Undead hunter. That is all.

So who else immediately rolled a tauren paladin? *raises hand*
Darky Nov 27th 2010 2:21PM
Bah Undead hunter all the way, you Taurens are weighed down by those moral things, and you PALADIN Taurens!... Yeeeesh don't get me started!
But in all seriousness, my undead hunter is already level 50 (my only heirloom being the bow 'coz gosh darn it suits undead so well), I love me some eastern kingdom questing!

*raises both hands*

Hell yes, Tauren Pally. When I was leveling through Mulgore, the zone had two dozen pallies, a couple priests, and a single shaman. They're god damn everywhere, and I don't care.

I was the rarity. That night, I rolled a Tauren hunter.
It was pointed out to me that I was unique several times in Mulgore General. :P

Actually, I rolled troll druid to play along with a friend's tauren pally. Though I'll probably get around to opening a retbull of my own one of these days.

Blood elf warrior ftw!
Possum Nov 28th 2010 6:12AM
Immediately. And I can't stop playing her...
Rai Nov 27th 2010 2:17PM
I immediatly rolled a gnome priest for the sake of having a gnome healer.
Then, went shadow.
Gorski Nov 28th 2010 1:35AM
My god, it's full of stars!

Tauren Paladin+Troll Mage+Undead Hunter=No time for anything else.

As I've wanted a Troll Warlock since Vanilla, I have been enjoying getting my wish
seso Nov 28th 2010 4:11AM
I was beginning to think that Troll Warlocks had been completely overlooked by the entitre community! Glad to see I wasn't the only one who gave them a try. My lovely new "Trolloc" (spelling intentional) just finished up the Echo Isles quests last night, and will be doing some heirloom-less levelling later today.
I'm also pleasantly surprised that Trolls can now be 9/10 of the classes there are in game. My dream of having every class filled by Trolls is nearly realised! And besides, who needs more Paladins anyway?
TheWizard Nov 27th 2010 2:47PM
Dwarf Shaman, damn they're just so... rad!
Hoaxs Nov 27th 2010 8:15PM
Nothing beats a dwarf pew pewing electric bolts out of his hand!
Baba Nov 28th 2010 1:21PM
Possibly forgivable that we have no keg-totems.. :/
GeekyGR Nov 27th 2010 2:53PM
No one else rolled a human hunter? I know human males look incredibly dorky, but I just can't stand to play anything else at this point. I've grown accustomed to (the dorkiness of) the emotes.
MusedMoose Nov 27th 2010 2:54PM
My night elf mage is now level 25 and is burning her way through the Wetlands. Inspired by the greatest Final Fantasy villain of all time (Kefka, of course, who else could I be talking about??), she's an engineer and is hitting dungeons to get rep to get her own mechanostrider.
Also, if any of my fellow Alliance haven't done the Loch Modan quest that ends with the skystrider flight, you don't know what you're missing. ^_^
Noyou Nov 27th 2010 3:27PM
Spoiler! :p I am having a blast leveling my dwarf shaman. I'm trying not to skip zones but I did some questing in Elwynn, westfall, and Loch modan. I definitely want to finish Loch Modan and probably Westfall before hitting my favorite zone Duskwwod :) It's amazing how much is changed. I actually have a guildy who is bored. I totally don't see how anyone could be bored right now...unless all you do is run dungeons/raid. If I wasn't leveling a character I would spend my time visiting the zones.
MusedMoose Nov 27th 2010 4:35PM
Eh, I didn't think it was really a spoiler; the gnome mentions it in the first part of the chain. (Farstrider Lodge, eastern Loch Modan, for the curious.) And yeah, I just ran through the newbie zones with a new human hunter and dwarven shaman; both are awesome! I've never been happier to be an altaholic, and can't wait 'till I can make a worgen.
