I really like both the characters of Garrosh and Thrall, and I think changing the warchief is a great dynamic for further character & plot development in the Horde. While I agree that both Cairne & Thrall are powerful characters, Garrosh is a powerful and influential orc and warrior in his own right and to dismiss him as being the winner by circumstance both times is not the right view.
I admire the more warlike feel Blizzard have been going with in WotLK and Cataclysm and I think the characters of Thrall and Jaine and Garrosh and Varian Wrynn play well with eachother. I just hope Blizzard doesn't dismiss Garrosh as the leader of the Horde after or during the Cataclysm expansion just because Thrall's storyline calls for it. Bring the war back to Warcraft!
(P.S. I am an Orc fanboy and they are clearly the best race in wow.)
