And anyone who's read the comics would deduce that Thrall was holding back. I think that Mak'goras forbid magic, so Thrall was fighting Garrosh in pure hand-to-hand (despite Thrall using magic in-game). In the comic, Thrall fought Garrosh without magic up until the moment Saurfang reported that the Lich King was attacking, at which point Thrall blasted Garrosh back on his ass with lightning, immediately prior to one-shotting a necropolis.
