I'm a bit confused. Thanksgiving was the 25th... and it's not Sunday Morning in the states yet even if it was Thanksgiving. I guess it doesn't really matter so much, though. Either way: Yay comics!

checks his watch to make sure he didn't just imagine an entire day going by before realizing the post is late.

Sunday 'MORNING'?
Alcoma Nov 28th 2010 8:34PM
Sunday morning funnies when it's dark out? Looks like Deathwing found the WoW insider forums too! They've been shattered!
Dreyja Nov 28th 2010 8:57PM
I was wondering where this was this morning. :D
Yay!
And I am SO happy to see Schnookums make his appearance in Out of World. ;)

How I hate when draenei are depicted like they can move their tendrils.... They are tendrils, not tentacles! They can't move them!
Oteo Nov 28th 2010 9:46PM
I'd never seen that interpretation before but found it amusing... Who says they can't?
Tokkar Nov 28th 2010 10:22PM
I agree - who says that they can't? In fact, isn't one of the /flirt statements from male draenei "My nondescript facial appendages quiver with anticipation every time I see you"? This would indicate at least SOME form of movement is possible, yes?
zweitblom Nov 29th 2010 1:34AM
8 out of 10 Draenei in Goldshire would disagree with you. Just sayin'.
TimerZero Nov 29th 2010 4:49AM
if i recall, quite a few of the emotes in the model finder have the facial tenticles moving. Ofc, I could be mistaken but memory serves at the very least the casting animations have it.
Drakkenfyre Nov 29th 2010 9:15AM
I hate it when they color their horns differently.
The horns are covered with skin. They are not "bony", as in the surface being hard. I see way too many people drawing them like Rhino horns.
And as for the article's mention, errr, Thanksgiving was 2 days ago as of the publishing of this article. Must have been written in advance, and the timing got screwed up.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Talk:Draenei#Dranei_Facial_.22Tendrils.22
"Tendrils" are common to many plant species, but are not found in mammalian species nor aquatic forms of life.
"Barbels" are common to some aquatic species, but are associated with the sense of taste and are not nearly as long as those of the facial appendages common to Draenei, nor have these ever been associated in Draenei as being associated with any of the five senses.
They have NEVER been associated, lore-wise or in-game except by players, as "tendrils" and have ALWAYS been referred to merely as "facial appendages".
And JUST IN CASE this isn't enough, consider:
Watch The Burning Crusade trailer. Watch RIGHT WHEN THE DRAENEI PALADIN LIFTS THE EFFECTS OF THE GLYPH UPON HIMSELF!
That's right...THEY ARE MOVING! It's not merely flopping around because of HIS movements - they're moving in many different directions when the glyph's effects take hold.
So no, they aren't "tendrils". Yes, they can move. They may not be as articulate as tentacles from what we know...but we don't know exactly what they are or what they're used for now, do we? Why? Because that's never been discussed by Blizzard.
Just doing my civic duty.
Anteia Nov 29th 2010 12:03AM
I can't say I've ever spent a long time thinking on them....but I still found that highly informative and interesting, and I wouldn't have thought to re-watch the BC trailer for them. Being way too focussed on tiny details at times... Thank you for taking the time to put out the information. :)
Talthos Nov 29th 2010 12:53AM
This... would be one of the reasons we casually omit them on our characters. Another would be to let them be more cross-genre and versatile.
cycloneduke Nov 29th 2010 4:30AM
Nerfnow.com had 2 wow comics recently!
TimerZero Nov 29th 2010 4:55AM
Many thanks for the feature again! I had something inspiring to say to others starting their comics but connection lost between brain and hands, so insert what you will.
As long as you don't need surgery to take it back out of course.
ninjivitis Nov 29th 2010 9:28AM
I'm sure the... things can move to a degree, but probably not in the prehensile-appearing way depicted in the comic. They probably just twitch and flop around.
Wait, why am I even talking about this? I hate Draenei. Everything about them annoys me. I think they're the worst race in the game. Instead of talking about them, I could be using this time to masturbate.
And for some reason I want to punch that fat blue one in the face.

Demolitionsquad.net recently had a wow comisstrip. You probably don't know it. It's pretty much unknown outside of Germany. Here's the Link :

I hate it when people whinge at artists for their interpretation of their own characters in their own comic.
I'm not changing the way I draw non-descript facial pixels for anyone...
Unless, of course, you want to pay me £100 a week then I'll glad do it how you want it done! :)
@Drakkenfyre
Are we looking at the same spacegoats, really? Because in-game the female's horns are a darker colour than the rest of their body though the shade seems to depends on skin colour. As I haven't got play time on my account I can't log in to get a decent screen shot of Kiandra and her black horns.
'The horns are covered with skin. They are not "bony", as in the surface being hard.' I can't seem to find any proof of this... 'Cus the models and official concept art says different.
