I'm confused as to why the socket bonus on the Brazen Elementium Medallion is +10 Strength. Any word on this?

It's itemized slightly better toward Fury warriors and Death Knights, who don't mind some agility mixed in with their strength for crit purposes, I believe.

Ah, so then the Entwined Elementium Choker would be a better choice, in order to avoid "lol strength" comments? Or go with the Medallion anyways?

I personally would aim for that one, not so much to avoid lol strength comments, but to try for the mastery bonus with a gem. Though the other might be straight up better dps depending on gear with a straight agility gem in it, even if it gives a strength bonus on the socket, which is probably why Frost listed it as an option.
