The Queue: We didn't start the fire
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW Insider, will be your host today.
This is a really cute video put together. It's not Grade A machinima in terms of video production quality, but the concept behind it is up there with Blind in its "hey sweet, this is WoW!" quality ... At least in my opinion.
Five days here, folks, then the big event. Let's answer some of your questions.
Furry asked:
Will the limit to number of justice points go up at all as we level or when we hit 85, or will it always be capped at 4,000?
It was capped at 4,000 when I was level 85 in the beta. It's likely the cap will remain. But that shouldn't be a problem, in so much as you can still get the gear you want. You just won't be able to stockpile tons of justice points.
Wreck asked:
How is water combat changing in Cataclysm? After the 10,000th time taking a portal on Dreamwalker last night, the thought occurred to me that I don't want to level in Vashj'ir unless changes are coming.
Water combat feels just like normal combat but with a vertical dimension added in. Vashj'ir isn't bad at all, it's actually a really fun and compelling zone to play through. It'll be the first zone I do in Cataclysm as well, given that I'm expecting everyone to run to Mount Hyjal.
You also get an underwater mount early on, and that provides a lot of utility throughout the zone. It's really an amazing zone, and Blizzard has done an above average job at it. It's like your playing through Echo the Dolphin on WoW, and that's just fracken awesome.
Psychoraven asked:
Will worgen death knights and higher-level characters who race change to worgen be able to learn the Running Wild ability?
Yes.
Szilgyi asked:
Has Blizzard announced if it will change tabards from counting as a normal inventory slot?
For right now, tabards are still taking up an inventory slot. Blizzard has said that it eventually wants to move them to a keyring-based holder, but that's likely not going to happen for a bit.

You really need to just get some potions of water breathing (or an equivalent) and hang out in the Borean Tundra lake.
Get ready to kill lots of divers and chop off a LOT of ears.
It's boring, but for classes that have a harder time soloing coilfang instances, it's actually a pretty rapid rep gain.
kingoomieiii Dec 2nd 2010 1:23PM
You'll certainly be able to solo heroic Steamvaults at 85.
pandaba Dec 2nd 2010 2:14PM
Have you tried to solo it yet? Steamvault is easier than you might think it is so I'd encourage you to give it a shot, especially if you have any decent CC / snare options.
Barring that, if your guild has any leveling healers or tanks (if you have a way to heal them), then see if they're interested in going. Tell them that it'll be a ton of free exp and they can keep everything except for the armaments. A couple of relatively new 80's in my guild got help with some of the Outland runs using that sort of carrot.
Pyromelter Dec 2nd 2010 2:37PM
There is a worgen druid in un'goro that you get cenarian rep from when you complete his quests. Same with a tauren druid in WPL.
not sure about the 80-85 zones though.
Amaxe Dec 2nd 2010 2:49PM
Farming ears and buying the coilfang armaments (assuming you unlock the quest) was how I did it.
Of course I was pretty ear-atated by the end of it all

I just ran around getting ears from Kaw's Minions in Borean Tundra. The respawn rate is super fast and the drop rate is pretty darn good. Only took me a few hours to get to exalted
CrossEyed Dec 3rd 2010 10:23AM
@Pyromelter From what I can tell those NPC's give cenarion CIRCLE rep not cenarion EXPEDITION. If that's not correct please let me know.
@Pandaba I have tried on my own, I am a FRESH level 80 rogue, still have BoA weapons Shoulders and Chest. COULD I solo it? Probably... Is it way more hassle than its worth? Definitely. What I had been doing is running in, singling out mobs in the first little area, killing them all, getting their drops, running back out and resetting the instance. It WORKS, but I feel its not the most efficient, plus I'm running out of time to play with this before I need to be leveling to 85.
@Everyone else. Thanks for the Ears talk. I had heard elsewhere it really wasn't worth it to try to do that because it takes 15 ears for 1 turn in rather than 1 CA for a turn in PLUS the rep you get for killing those which drop the CA's. Will give the ears a shot later.

Did you mean Ecco the Dolphin?
Snuzzle Dec 3rd 2010 3:59AM
Glad I'm not the only one that bugged ;)
Also, to the question-asker and anyone else: If you're nervous about the way underwater combat will be handled in Vashj'ir, go ahead and do some quests in 1k Needles. But make sure you quest far enough up to get to the goblin floating town. It's really a lot of fun, and got me majorly pumped for Vashj'ir. :D

Where in the new Azeroth are the Brew of the Month Vendors? I ran in about 4 circles in Org last night trying to find that guy.
Andostre Dec 2nd 2010 1:48PM
The one in IF is still in the same place. In fact, there are two BotM vendors, now. Maybe in Org the vendor is in the same place, but it's a new vendor?
Hih Dec 2nd 2010 2:10PM
@Adostre, the area where the BotM vendor was doesn't even exist in Org anymore, hence the question.
@Tim: This is where I'd link you the wowhead link for the npc and berate you for asking a question that would take 2 seconds to find out on your own, but... http://www.wowhead.com/npc=27820#comments
as you can see, even wowhead is stumped. "The location of this NPC is unknown."
Tim {the other Tim} Dec 2nd 2010 2:19PM
The old vendor was was Ray'ma or Rey'me or something. His location on wowhead is now next to the Goblin Shaman trainer. He is not there. It hasn't been updated. rage building...
Matchu Dec 2nd 2010 5:09PM
The Org vendor is, I believe, stuck under the ground.
Pfooti Dec 2nd 2010 1:12PM
I remember a while back, you posted a story about someone who got a character to level 80 without dying. A warrior, I believe. I was pretty impressed at the time.
Since 4.0.3 dropped, my dwarf shaman (Skjaldr, US-Wyrmrest Accord) has made it to 65 (a long shot from 80, I know, but there's no reason to think I won't make it to 80 this way) without dying. Mostly, I've avoided PvP and dungeons, but not done anything particularly special to stay alive. The combination of heirlooms and new talents (and faster leveling) makes this a lot simpler to do.
So, what I wonder is: haver there been a lot of deathless-to-80 stories since the first one? Or is this still a relatively rare event?
Bronwyn Dec 2nd 2010 4:10PM
Personally I think what made it really epic that Reticent (I believe that's the correct name) would delete and reroll if he died.
Pfooti Dec 2nd 2010 4:16PM
That's a really good point. I'm not going to restart my shaman if I die, I'm just going to be very careful about group pulls and steer clear of PvP and LFG on my way to 80/5.
Neodarkmatter Dec 2nd 2010 1:13PM
Liked the video for today's Queue. Creative idea that I imagine took a lot of coordination to pull off.
ladygamertn Dec 2nd 2010 1:45PM
Ditto! I had a nice laugh, which is always a great way to start the day! Kudos to the guild that did it!
ambermist Dec 2nd 2010 1:57PM
Indeed! The guild that posted it is , and they're on Durotan (my realm, as well). Saw this yesterday when they posted it on the forum; it was pretty cool to see it here. :-)
