Meet WoW Insider at midnight Cataclysm releases

Don't be shy! If you see someone in a WoW Insider shirt, stop and say hello. If you don't see someone in a WoW Insider shirt at the locations listed below the break, it's probably because it's the middle of winter and we're all doing our best not to freeze to death. Just ask around!
Oh, did I mention all WoW Insider staff members will be armed with Slashdance and Tiny loot codes from WoWTCGLoot.com?
A list of attending staff members and their locations are behind the break. And below, pictures from the Wrath midnight launches attending by the WoW Insider crew.

Nice to see a WoW Insider in the DC area. Hey Dawn, are you super excited to be able to travel without being stuck for hours in traffic? Oh wait it's a midnight release and 495 is being closed every night.

*sigh* First, the Gamestop that i have my pre-order at isn't having a midnight event, and now no Wow Insiders are going to be hanging out in Winnipeg.
Not that I blame them....at least I'll get to stay inside a warm house and get some sleep before playing.
Nicole thomas Dec 4th 2010 12:07PM
Could we please make your next Canadian appearance be in Ontario!... Pretty please. D:

I went to a midnight Gamestop fot WotLK. But this is different for this and presumably future releases. These are not the hard-core players; those have already downloaded it and will be playing at 12:01. So what exactly is the market for socials who don't care about racing to 85 but do care enough to be out at midnight? It is too cold for hopes of scantily clad bloodelfs.
Digital content obviates not only the need for midnight releases but also of game stores. When they get to retailer heaven, they can sit next to record stores and DVD rental stores.

It's the nerd line experience. Builds hype and gets people excited. I've done nerd lines for a lot of different things (Crapisode 1, Harry Potter midnight book releases, etc). It's almost like a mini-convention atmosphere, people are pumped up and the enthusiasm is great to be around. Plus it's nice to meet like-minded people who are into your hobby, especially one as oft-maligned as ours. To me it's worth braving the cold for.
Trevor Dec 5th 2010 1:35AM
I agree with Kylenne, I've been to the past two Midnight Launches its amazing to see the kind of people who show up.
And for some of us less fortunate its an opportunity to get the hard copy of the game cause our internets suck or we don't have a credit card...
Tiffany Dec 4th 2010 1:55PM
You need to come to Indiana. Purdue University more specifically.
Regardless, this is gonna be fun!
