This sounds exactly like what happened to me. I started raiding with Sartharion and VoA, and did Naxx. Problem was my guild was way too casual to actual get through Naxx because we had too many new players who weren't geared enough for Naxx. I then leveled 3 alts to see if I could find another role that would fit me, and only got to see one bit of Ulduar as I leveled these alts. When ToC had fully opened up, I finally joined a progression guild and got to see the end of Wrath that way. The only problem was the only raids in Wrath I have seen from beginning to end is Sarth, Naxx, and ToC. All the others I haven't tried, or I had quit during ICC raiding.
Its weird...it felt like a lot of players suddenly had real life hit them in the face and prevent them from seeing all of the game. But real life is important, and we can't ignore it. Let's hope Cataclysm will be something of a gold mine for raiding since each patch will have multiple raids.
