Live Stream: Guided tour of Orgrimmar
I love the updated look of Orgrimmar, but it's hard to get used to the new layout. Blizzard didn't just give the city a more rugged, old-school paint job; almost everything has been moved! Today's live stream guide will be a mapping-out of the new Org, pointing out the important things from how to catch a zeppelin to where to get your hair cut. I'll also be taking questions from the chat room, which is after the break.
Update: The stream is now over, but you can watch the video replay by clicking on the image above.

It took about 4 years for me to remember where everything was...then they burnt it down. It does look really epic now though! Can't wait to get the ariel view tonight.

the new org looks stunning, still i really miss the cosy orgrimmar, where you really had the feeling there was a kind of center where everybody gathered.. the new org doesnt have this and i'm kinda sad about that

Huh. On my server, we all hang out in front of New Grommash Hold and play loud music to piss Garrosh off (even more, quite happy that's even possible), then dance on the mailbox in front of his office.

The new Org takes some getting used to but I like the new lay out. I can tell that once you have a flying mount it will be much easier to get around as they seemed to have built it with that in mind.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but are other people (EU in particular) having trouble pre-ordering (digital download) Cata? I guess it was dumb of me to wait this long but I was planning on going to a midnight release, but we've been having craploads of snow, so they all seem to be cancelled. And also I want to play immediately.
Can anyone help?

What exactly are the problems you're having? Have you tried the official tech support forums?
Deathknighty Dec 6th 2010 2:33PM
It keeps saying that an error has occurred in processing my request. There's nothing wrong with the credit card details, so I can only assume that their servers are overloaded. I tried phoning their support line, but that was unavailable too.

Orgrimmar now feels like a real capital city and not a third world country. I am going to have garrosh come decorate my place.
Deathknighty Dec 6th 2010 2:36PM
Are you implying that your place looks like a third world country?

I love the new Org too, but there's one thing that's driving me particularly nuts ... the apparent lack of a centrally located repair dude. In old Org I used to go to the one that was in the hut next to the AH. Now I ride around with my Repair tracking on and I'm never able to find ANYONE other than the vendors that hang off the back of mammoths. This has served me pretty well, but I've hated the few times I was in the middle of something when the mammoth's owner decided he/she was ready to move on.

I'm parked by the inn in Valley of Honor... bank and AH nearby, and not that far a ride to the weapons vendors back by the blacksmiths, to do repairs after dungeon runs...

Orgrimmar pro-tip...best spot to set your hearth: Valley of Wisdom with the Taurens. You've got your inn, bank, AH, repair & more only a few steps away from one another. And it's empty, peaceful.....easy to load.

Thanks for the tip. I guess you could also set your hearth in the goblin slums, but considering all the pollution and the mess they've made there after only two weeks, I'd rather hang with the cows.

I love the new Org...
However, my one gripe is that you have to wait for an elevator to get up to the FP. This is to me a big drawback of both UC and TB and now elevators have invaded Org as well. Granted once your toon has flying it will matter less, but as I've been doing nothing but levelling new toons for the last two weeks, it's definitely annoying.

I got completely lost in Org. Only way i could work out where the FP was, was to run to Ashzara and work backwards. And I'm still not that sure....
