Tuesday Morning Post: A farewell to alts edition

Either way, I'm sure by now that most of us have put aside our awesome gnome priests and troll druids and gone back to our level 80s. I know I've bid a fond farewell to my gnome priest and left her camped out in the Badlands listening to Martek and Theldurin the Lost telling tall tales about how they totally took out Deathwing. Still, I have a feeling she'll get some love again once my death knight is safely level 85 and kitted out in that awesome tier 11 gear.
Whether you're leveling your Wrath main to 85 or starting a new level 1 goblin, there's a lot you'll want to know about the brave new world of Cataclysm. Luckily, we're with you every step of the way, from giving you ideas on what do when you first log in and beyond. Read on for a roundup of some of all of the great guides and news items from the past week, and staying with us in the coming hours, days, and weeks, for even more great stuff you'll want to know.

I'm totally on my alt. I'm not really feeling the 80-85 vibe yet. I know it's coming. Just hasn't bit me yet.

Same here im going to work on alts, not feeling the need for ramdom heroics farmings and that stuff, since the 80-85 is a fast gap i dont feel like leveling my mains right now, and maybe, my alt, can become my main, who knows... the world is shattered so is my will to heriocs/raids right now.

Promised my friend I'd level my warlock to PvP with him on a new server and competition will be too tight levelling now anyway.
Sooner I level, the more chance we'll be fighting equally geared opponents :D

Gotta say the upgrades are amazing. I dinged 80 Friday and have already replaced 4 pieces this morning in the hour I did manage to squeeze in. Those greens I got in 1 hour are better then the epics in icc 25 on my old main I had farmed for 8 months.

I'm just amazed there wasn't a que to get on... Planning on running all my 80's at the same time...finish one zone and go back with the next toon.

I'll be playing my alts for a while... until I stop being too damn poor to buy Cataclysm. /cry

" I know I've bid a fond farewell to my gnome priest and left her camped out in the Badlands listening to Martek and Theldurin the Lost telling tall tales about how they totally took out Deathwing."
Made me giggle

You are assuming of course, that no one made it to 80 on their "alts". My Dwarf Shaman hit 80 last night (with 8 minutes to spare before midnight), and I know of several other people who made it to 80 on their new race/class combos days before I did.

Bravo sir.

This topic is very fitting for me. I hadn't wanted to play my 80 hunter for almost a month, and had been idly leveling a new tauren pally to fill the void. Last night that all changed. I was back on my hunter and more awesome than ever. Most of my furious gladiator gear has gone the way of the dodo in the wake of my awesome new greens and blues, and my relentless and wrathful stuff is starting to feel the heat. 85 is going to be a load of fun.

I have 5 'alts' that are level 80 along with my main, and three of them had decent gear scores to raid with in Wrath. I have a nice long road ahead of me to get from 80-85. Not to mention just the profession leveling. Not looking forward to hours of mindless fishing.
Aloix Dec 7th 2010 10:55AM
I'll probably be playing alt(s).
I'm returning to the game after a couple month hiatus, and my main's on a server I want to xfer off of once I have the $. Not sure if I have even the desire to play her until I do that, so I may just play a toon I'd already re-rolled on new server, or start another.
I feel so unprepared for this.
Buffybot Dec 7th 2010 3:46PM
I am steering clear of the new areas till I know I won't have to constantly fight for quest stuff, the desire to level hasn't hit me either. Instead I want to work on guild XP and playing around with questing, since flying is going to make Loremaster less of a chore.
wutsconflag Dec 7th 2010 1:24PM
Actually, due to the changes in profession availability, I am going to have to level my alts in order to remain competitive in the auction house. In fact, I'll probably level my AH alt, first, due to her professions.
Matthew Dec 7th 2010 2:29PM
Is it me (is it?) or is the Cataclysm from Wrath excitement LESS than the Wrath from BC excitement? I was sooooooooo excited about Wrath . . . I'm less excited about Cat (but still excited).
terrylangfitt Dec 7th 2010 4:15PM
Kinda funny, while leveling my alt he will be left Martek as well since thats where I logged off last night. See you in a few weeks mr. alt.
Frump Dec 7th 2010 4:28PM
Got kingslayer with my "alt" priest two days ago. Gonna shoot her up to compete in the arena season starting in 6 days. Soon after that I'll get my raiding guy up in time to have 10 in the guild for our first go at cata raids.
