Sweet, I can show this instead of that coworkers "I hate Mondays" mug.

WTB Thunder Bluff mug, PST.

Ok, so I went to the Taverncraft site. Down at the bottom is a button that says "Tankards in Progress". I thought, "ooh, I bet that's a list of similar stuff that is in the pipeline, or maybe a way to request new ones."
Nope - it's a gallery of them making the tankards. Which is cool and all, just not remotely what I expected.
Sad panda is sad.

Looking forward to the next edition of the Horde mug, featuring Abesik Kampfire!

Admittedly, the price point on these two are much more reasonable than I would have expected. However, I'm curious how many units have been purchased to merit a continuation of these products.
Are people or collectors really in to these enough? I never really thought the line would expand as it has.
Dreyja Dec 8th 2010 5:40PM
Well even the expensive EPIC steins are selling so I'd guess that the answer to that is, "yes." :)

WTB Ironforge and Gilneas Mugs! And yes, Thunderbluff too :D
Hoof Dec 8th 2010 5:27PM
Thrall? That old windbag? Give me a Garrosh mug or no get shiny CC number.
Dreyja Dec 8th 2010 5:42PM
lol, and here I was just thinking, THANK GOD it's Thrall on there rather than Sr. Dickbag. ;-p Maybe they'll do an updated version for you though. :D
I just purchased the Tankard of Terror so I'll hold off on these ones until they make one for Ironforge. ;)

Woohoo ThinkGeek! :D
AishaLove Dec 8th 2010 8:36PM
$20!!!!!
Wholy god, these look like they belong with a happy meal, just crappy plastic. They look like toys!
VioletArrows Dec 8th 2010 9:54PM
That's not plastic, it's gloss glazed ceramic. :/
As for the 'cartoony' look... have you been playing this game long?
AishaLove Dec 8th 2010 9:57PM
all I'm saying is in the pics online they look like toys, not cartoony. they look like toys. Now maybe they look better IRL but that means they should be getting better pics then.
Powaah Dec 8th 2010 8:59PM
Look nice, just wish they didn't cost a Benj each.
Tokkar Dec 9th 2010 6:40AM
Um...don't you mean Jackson?

I first heard about these at Blizzcon 2009 while given a very vague description, and was given the opportunity to preorder one. I'm glad I didn't. These are nice, but could have been better. Stormind and Orgrimmar are barely visible on the mug, so the extra text isn't really warranted.

20$ for a coffee mug?
Alan Dec 9th 2010 9:30AM
I ordered a Tankard-O-Terror from Taverncraft when they were first made available. If I recall correctly, they took about 6 months to actually fill the order. There were a couple of production delays and some other stuff that seemed to happen to them. I emailed them more than a few times to get updates...sometimes I would get a response, sometimes I wouldn't.
I did finally get the Tankard, and it is an awesome piece to be sure. I'd just be really wary of dealing with Taverncraft again in the future, and would probably favor going through ThinkGeek just in case.
YMMV

I'm not sure if it is something in the production line that has changed but I've recently made a purchase with them and they've been very helpful. I think they've tried very hard to do a better job in communication. :)
People need to remember that these items, at least the bigger ones, are hand crafted AFTER order, so it does take longer than if it's an item they have in inventory and just need to send out.
Your worry is understandable given your experience with them though Alan. :) I'm really looking foward to my Tankard of Terror. It'll make a rocking coffee mug at the office. XD
